My Bissell did this same thing and it took forever for me to figure out. Seems one of my kids turned the dial that says heavy traffic, normal traffic around and around. All I had to do was turn it back until it wouldn't turn anymore and VOILA!

SOURCE: Red float keeps popping up

Don't permanently remove the filter, instead, cut approximately 3/4 of an inch off the OPEN end of it and put it back on.

SOURCE: not sucking up dirty water

Sounds like the suction motor is not working correctly. Either clogged with dirt or objects or it is failing.

Check this first:

Not suctioning properly, first check the motor duct gasket. To check this, first remove the tank and place your hand over the rubber square opening.

If your machine does have suction at the duct, continue to check the following:

Ensure the Ready Tools Dial is set to the appropriate setting (Floor Cleaning or Hose Attachments).

Remove the tank from the machine and ensure the tank lid is attached properly. The front window must first hook onto the lip of the bottom of the tank and then drape over the tank. Latch the bottom tank to the top tank lid. THIS LID CANNOT BE
ATTACHED PROPERLY IF THE TANK IS NOT REMOVED FROM THE MACHINE.

Make sure the Water Tank is not full on the outside of the bladder. If it is, empty the tank.
Ensure the hose is firmly attached to the back of the machine. If not, re-insert as necessary by twisting into place.

The machine must be in an upright, locked position and set to the Hose Attachment setting. If the handle is slightly tilted back while using, it will create a small gap at the suction inlet (where handle meets gasket, above the Bottom Tank) which will cause little or no suction.

Check the red Tank Lint Screen for debris. If the Lint Screen is dirty, the unit will have poor suction. Clean the Lint Screen if necessary.

If the float flap door in the tank lid is activating prematurely when you turn the machine on, this flap door should be replaced.
Check the Tank Lid and Tank for damage.

If there is no suction there, please take your machine to a BISSELL Authorized Service Center for inspection.

yes you can but it would require taking the entire hood of to replace it ( it hooks on inside there ) but those machines need to be opened very carefully and you need to make sure several pieces are back a certain way, so i would take it to an authorized bissell repair center, go to there website and put in your zip code to find the closest one to you.

SOURCE: Bissell pro heat 2x multi surface carpet cleaner making spots

maybe there's not enough vacuum or it hasn't been primed enough. I have a proheat that drove me crazy till I started leaving the heat switch on. I get wads of carpet fiber that mat around brush and spit out on the carpet, so I frequently remove them. I'm just wondering if after you empty the water, it may not have built up the suction. Good luck! hope this may be helpful

Loss of suction power -

1. Tanks may not be seated properly - Pick up both tanks and reseat them so they fit properly on the unit.

2. Nozzles may not be assembled properly - Unplug the unit. Check to make sure the "lip" of the nozzle cover is securely hooked into the groove on the top of nozzle.

3. The portable spot cleaner is not attached completely - Push down firmly to check connection

4. Dirty tank has picked up maximum amount of dirty water and has reached full line - Empty dirty tank

5. Formula & water tank is empty - Check fluid levels in formula & water tank Suction Gate is open Check to make sure the suction gate is closed. Follow "Cleaning Suction Gate" instructions in the manual.

I hope this helps!

Check the dirty tank for proper assembly and how full it is. There is a red float ball in there that might be stuck closed.

Ensure the Dirt Devil is connected to a working power supply if it does not turn on or operate. Check the fuse or breaker and replace or reset as necessary.

  • 2 Empty the dirty water tank if there is little or no suction. Turn off the Dirt Devil and grab the top of the dirty water tank. Push on the latch to release the tank and pull the tank off the base. Remove the lid and empty the dirty water into a sink. Replace the cap and hook the front of the tank onto the machine base. Hook the nozzle on the base so that the nozzle is level with the cleaner base. Push the back of the dirty water tank down and into position.

  • 3 Check the dirty water tank and empty as necessary if there is water leaking from the cleaner. Open the latch on the top of the solution reservoir and pull the reservoir forward. Fill with Dirt Devil brand cleaner to the fill mark. Fill the rest of the reservoir with hot water and close the cap. Replace on the base unit.
  • 4 Make sure the solution reservoir is seated firmly in the base unit if there is no cleaning solution dispensing from the unit. Fill the solution tank with cleaner and water if the level is low.
  • 5 Examine the hose and nozzles for possible obstructions if the carpet cleaner does not seem to be operating correctly. Remove any blockages.

My bissell pro heat 2x does not **** up the water from either the upholstery cleaner or carpet cleaner. Any thoughts as to why? The water and heat functions work it just does not pick up

First check the motor duct gasket. The motor duct gasket is visible once the tank is removed. It is located underneath the handle on the top of the base of the machine. It has a black rubber coating around it. If there is no suction there please let us know. If your machine does have suction at the duct, continue to check the following:

    - Ensure the Ready Tools Dial is set to the appropriate setting (Floor Cleaning or Hose Attachments).
    - Remove the tank from the machine and ensure the tank lid is attached properly. The front window must first hook onto the lip of the bottom of the tank and then drape over the tank.
