Question about Husqvarna Forest & Garden 125l 18" Gas Trimmer

Engine will start and die immediately what is the carburetor adjustment procedure. new plug,air and fuel filter, fuel lines and fuel tank grommet insp. for cracks and leaks, new gas and oil mixture correct, primer bulb intact no air leaks detected. fuel cap checked ok

HuskyvarNA MONDO WEED EATER , WANT TO adjust carb ,there is a idle srew ibelieve ,then 2 screw on blue and on red i believe ,i think the mixture is not leane enough i have to have choke on half way for it to run ,how do i adjust

Have had generator in storage, Makita G1300R. What do I need to do repair wise to get it to start after about ten years in storage??


Remove air filter assembly. Disconnect fuel line from carburetor and drain old fuel into suitable container to discard. Fuel Shut Off in the On position. If fuel has gelled up in the tank or lines, add small amount fresh fuel in fuel tank, swish around several times and flush until clean.
Loosen and remove Carb Mounting nuts, throttle linkage and spring (note the position). Carefully remove Carburetor and very carefully remove gaskets (do not discard until completion of final reassembly)
Disassemble Carburetor and thoroughly clean with appropriate cleaner and immediately following with compressed air. If thick gelled old fuel is present, soak disassembled carb in cleaner overnight before using compressed air is highly recommended.Reassemble carburetor, replace gaskets and install Carburetor (Reverse dis assembly) Inspect and replace air filter upon reassembly.
Inspect spark plug and replace (do not over tighten).
Add fresh fuel and perform start procedure. Initial start might take a few pulls but should start right up.

Vf750 honda idles but dies when throttle opened


Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Idle port, transfer ports, slow air jet clogged.
2. Idle adjusting screw set too low.
3. Air fuel mixture adjustment too lean.
4. Pilot/slow fuel jet clogged.
5. Faulty accelerator pump.
6. Float level too low.
7. Float bowl contaminated old fuel, water, dirt, rust, etc.
8. Carburetor bowl vent line clogged/blocked/pinched.
9. Fuel line to carburetor kinked or pinched.
10. Fuel filter clogged.
11. Intake manifold leak.
12. The gas cap is not venting properly or fuel tank venting system blocked.
13. Vacuum line from intake manifold to petcock broken, cracked, or not attached, carburetor vent line plugged.
14. Needle and seat stuck closed in the float bowl.
15. Multi carburetors not in sync.
16. Faulty fuel pump.

My husqvarna yth2348 riding mower is havering carb issues not getting fuel


Here are a few tips to look at, I would first check your inline fuel filter to make sure its not clogged up. See Page 26 of the Manual for additional help.

Will not start

CAUSE CORRECTION
1. Out of fuel. 1. Fill fuel tank.
2. Engine not "CHOKED" properly. 2. See "TO START ENGINE" in Operation section.
3. Engine flooded. 3. Wait several minutes before attempting to start.
4. Bad spark plug. 4. Replace spark plug.
5. Dirty air filter. 5. Clean/replace air filter.
6. Dirty fuel filter. 6. Replace fuel filter.
7. Water in fuel. 7. Empty fuel tank and carburetor, refill tank with fresh gasoline and replace fuel filter.
8. Loose or damaged wiring. 8. Check all wiring.
9. Carburetor out of adjustment. 9. See "To Adjust Carburetor" in Service Adjustments
section.
10. Engine valves out of adjustment. 10. Contact an authorized service center/department.

Check for spark at spark plugs then check fuel and fuel filter .

Troubleshooting a small Petrol engine that won't start requires a series of short tests and the process of elimination.
Understanding the principles of how a small engine operates is helpful but not necessary.
Proper disposal of hazardous liquids will be required.
The knowledge gained in the performance of this procedure can be applied to many different types and sizes of internal combustion engines.
The average weekend mechanic can complete the process in about an hour.
Put on the safety glasses.
Remove the gas cap and check that there is gas in the fuel tank.
Look at the inline gas cutoff valve located below the gas tank on the fuel line and make sure it is in the on position, with the knob turned straight in line with the fuel line.
Look at the spark plug and check that the wire is securely plugged onto the plug.
Try to turn the spark plug by hand and make sure it is screwed firmly into the hole.
Look at the ground strap by the spark plug and make sure it is not touching the spark plug.
Look at the kill switch located by the controls and make sure it is in the run position.


Remove the air filter by unsnapping its box-like cover or removing the wing nut that holds it onto the carburetor.
Lift the air filter out of the holder and set it aside.
Spray a shot of starting fluid from the aerosol can into the empty air filter area of the carburetor and try to start the engine.
Let the engine run about 30 seconds or until it dies.

Eliminate the electrical system as the cause of the problem if the engine started right up, ran a few moments, and quit.
Remove the gas line from the carburetor by loosening its hose clamp with the screwdriver kit.
Hold the fuel line over the clear glass container and let some gas run into it.
Look at the gas, checking for water and impurities.

Drain the gas tank if the gas looked impure.
Remove the gas filter from the fuel line by loosening its hose clamps with the screwdriver kit.
Replace the gas filter with a new one if the gas did not run into the glass at a rapid pace.
Reinstall the gas line and gas filter.
Fill the gas tank with new gas.

Find a small drain bolt located on the very bottom middle of the carburetor.
Place a small container that gas won't melt under it and remove it with the wrench kit.
Let the old gas drain out of the bottom until the new gas starts to flow out. Screw the drain bolt back into the bottom of the carburetor.

Clean up any spilled gas off the motor and elsewhere with the shop rag.
Place the rag in the metal bucket a safe distance from the work area.
Clean the air filter with warm, soapy water if it is the spongy type, or replace it with a new one.
Install the air filter. Start the engine.

Unplug the spark plug wire from the spark plug if the engine did not start.
Hold the insulated part of the spark plug wire with one hand and place the bare part about 1/4 inch away from the top of the spark plug.

Try to start the engine and watch for a spark between the wire and the plug. Replace the spark plug wire with a new one if it shocked you through the insulation.
Remove the spark plug using the spark plug wrench and replace it with a new one if there was a spark.
Try to start the engine. Let the engine run until it performs smoothly.

Do not do anything else if there was no spark, as the trouble is inside the internal workings of the engine and requires professional repair and tools.

In a 2-stroke engine, the valving is done by the mechanical relationship of the piston position in the cylinder. No adjustment is possible other than grinding the cylinder ports or changing the piston skirt shape. You need to check the fuel filter (in the tank), air filter, and muffler for plugging. Because the engine is designed to burn a small amount of oil with the fuel, the muffler tends to plug over time. Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. The carburetor has a rubber diaphragm in the lower chamber that decays over time as well. Good theory and troubleshooting information. 2-stroke engines are picky about air leaks behind the carburetor. Hope some of this helps!

Check the fuel lines for hardness, cracking, splitting, or end rot. Check the muffler for plugging. Check the carburetor fasteners for tightness. Are you using fresh fuel mix? If the carburetor jets have been adjusted, try turning both CW to stops (lightly) then back out each CCW 1-1/2 turns. Engine should start and run--allow to warm up. Pull the throttle full on, and adjust H needle CW until the engine starts to speed up, but still 4-strokes. Proper adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Let idle and adjust L CW for fairly smooth running, but still allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Hope this helps!

Saw starts then dies. Changed fuel ine soaked carb


Check the fuel filter, air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Was the carburetor disassembled when soaked and did you use compressed air to blow out all passages? If the carburetor jet screws have been moved, preset them as follows: Turn both H and L screws CW to stops (lightly), then back out CCW each screw 1-1/2 turns. Start the engine and allow to warm up. Pull the throttle full on and adjust H CW until the engine speeds up somewhat but 4-stroking. Proper adjustment is when the engine 4-strokes, but immediately 2-strokes when cutting. Allow to idle and adjust L CW until the engine runs fairly well, but still allows the engine to 'follow the throttle'. Adjust idle speed screw so that chain stops turning, but the engine continues to run. Hope this helps!

Mower dies after running for a few minutes


It sounds like the carburetor is running out of fuel.First make sure the tank is full then loosen or remove the gas cap when it starts sputtering to see if that corrects the problem. Then with engine off remove the fuel line that goes from the tank to the fuel pump,hold it low and see if any fuel flows out of it,if not lightly blow air backwards to the tank,(with fuel cap off),then see if the line is plugged. Next remove the fuel line that goes to carburetor from the fuel pump,crank the engine and see if any fuel flows,if so the carburetor should be cleaned by removing it and disassembling it.
