The green hole or if no colour there should be a symbol next to the hole matching the same on the speaker's jack. OR...

After reinstalling/installing an Operating System you can lose the Audio Drivers or sometimes they just corrupt.. Try reinstalling the Audio Drivers from the disk provide with your P.C./Laptop. If you no longer have the disk just visit the website of the makers of your P.C./Laptop or Motherboard and download the Audio Drivers from there, after that install them.
Thumbs up please if this works for you, thanks.

CANT GET 5.1 SURROND SOUND TO WPORK

I'm not familiar with this system, but I can suggest the following:
Make sure the speaker jacks are plugged into the correct holes.
Make sure (in the control panel) that the sounds are correctly configured. If you tell the computer that there are only 2 speakers, then you'll have a problem. Be sure you subwoofer is powered up and connected correctly.
Most all problems are caused by "operator error." This usually results from an improper connection.

No sound on speakers

no sound? i see... well on the right lower side of your screen do yu see a speaker with 3 little green lines coming out of it? this indicates that your sound card was detected by your computer. now in the back of your tower, are your speakers plugged in the right holes? if they are plugged in the pink holes (microphone) you will not hear anything. try plugging in green or black. if this dosent work go to control panel on your start key. lower left side. and click on sound options. you will see on the top tabs sound device. if your computer does not detect any sound related thing it will tell you that the device is not workign properly. this has to do with yur sound card not being installed correctly

1. there is an on switch on it, on the round thingy
2. try using an ipod or mp3 player to test, and only plug in the green wire
3. Make sure the volume is in mid range by turning the knob to the middle
4. Check connection to subwoofer
5. that's all I got, maybe it was not meant to be. But the sound on mine is pretty good :)

Why isn't my computer detecting my speakers

Computers do NOT detect speakers. Computers detect sound cards, which is the device that speakers plug in to but they are not aware of whether you are plugging in headphones, an amplifier or speakers.
The most common problems here are:
A: Your speakers are not plugged into the proper hole on the sound card. (most are color coded, make sure your cables jack color matches the color of the hole you are inserting it in.)
B: Your sound card is not installed properly. (This requires more info to resolve)
C: You volume is muted. (Instructions below)
D: Your speakers require power and are not plugged in or turned on. (Have you used these speakers before? Do they require power, is the power on?)
Go to your Control Panel under Sound and check your settings, make sure that your volume is NOT muted and that you have some sort of sound card showing.
If that does not help then please send me that Make/Model of the Computer you are using and Operating System (XP, Vista, etc) so that I may give you a specific answer with simpler instructions.

Sound wont come on

Did the sound ever work?

Is your sound cable plugged into the green hole on the back of your PC and into the correct hole on the back side of the monitor?

Is the mute on, either on the monitor or from the keyboard or windows volume control?

Go to "Start", "Control Panel", "Sounds and Audio Devices" and poke around there. Make sure all the sound settings look correct there.

Hope this helps, if I was able to FixYa, please remember to rate me. Thanks.

I cant get the rear speakers to play on my pioneer deh-p3000ib.

Sounds like you have
1) the rear speaker cable is plugged into the wrong colored hole
2) the audio software thinks you have a subwoofer, but you don't? Check on the audio software for ways to configure the speakers, the latest chips auto-detect when you plug in a cable, and ask you what that was you plugged in.
