Hi,
Make sure lamp cover is fixed in its position securely after lamp replacement. It is first thing that you removed from tv cabinet to replace lamp and it is necessary to put it back properly because lamp cover has to press a safety micro switch inside cabinet.

Let me know replacement lamp is Mitsubishi original lamp or any low price bulb?
Thanks.

OK, and what is title of red light on tv front? I mean is it power, lamp or temp light.
Is it blinking or just solid?

  • worldcatbob Aug 29, 2010

it is not blinking lamp light

Solid lamp light means Lamp did not turn On and reason could be defective lamp.
If you replaced bulb in old lamp housing then recheck its connections wires and if wires are OK then make sure lamp is inserted fully in its box in tv.
    Thanks

low cost bulb can also refuse to turn On so I would recommend to have Mitsubishi original lamp that comes in lamp housing as replacement lamp.

It depends on whether you are able to see a clear image or not. check the lamp first if its more than 2 yrs old you may need a new one, last one we checked with the problem you describe had a fan running slow. The fan nearest the lamp needs to run correctly or the tv will shut down. Good luck !

Mitsubishi DLP - model #WD62725

We're under a service plan and had the guy out today. Same symptoms. He replaced the lamp and it didn't work and then called Mitsubishi. They said it is probably a very common capacitor problem on the power supply board. If you open the back and take a look you are likely to see bulging caps. Parts C9A37 and C9A38. The caps are cheap if you can find them, but the parts are really hard to find right now so Best Buy is actually replacing these for people under service plans rather than fixing them. You probably ignored the "warning signs" like we did and didn't think much of it when the TV said there was something blocking the air flow and the lamp was going to shut off. We now know this is a sign that the caps are getting too hot and need to shut down to cool off... Good luck! BTW, our guy said the repair will run you about $200 if you can't do it yourself.

Canon LV-S1 New bulb but won't power up

Have you cleaned the filters? In this situation, the fan and power shuts down even before the bulb lights up and heats up the unit, but perhaps the unit can detect clogged filters.

You can download the manual here if you don't have one. Instructions for cleaning the filters are on page 37.
