Question about Nikon N8008 AF 35mm SLR Camera

1 Answer

I have a Nikon N8008. There is a blinking error message and the indicator under it (maybe a film indicator) is blinking on the LCD screen. It will not allow me to see anything through the viewfinder eyepiece either. The film has been loaded correctly. Why is it doing this?

I have 3 N8008s bodies and one of them started hanging up in the manner you describe, but only at 1/8000th sec. The reason you can't see through the viewfinder is because the mirror is up. One mine, pressing the shutter release button again brings it down. Some other solutions online suggest weak batteries, but I've ruled that out. It also seems that this is just something that can eventually happen with the N8008/N8008s. It bugs me that this started happening, but I only paid $16 for the camera and I've never, ever taken a photo at 1/8000th.

At the end of the roll, press the film-rewind/multiple-exposure button (marked with a roll of film and "ME", at the three-o'clock position on the round pad on the left of the camera. In mid-roll, press that button and the film-rewind button just to the right of the prism simultaneously.

Would a Sigma 50mm 1:28 DG Macro work on a Nikon N8008 SLR film

Sigma makes lenses with a variety of mounts. Assuming the lens has a Nikon mount, then yes, it will work fine on the N8008.

My Nikon N75 says error and there is a flashing circle with a dot in the middle when i look through the lens.... What does this mean?!

If the LCD panel shows "E" then the film isn't loaded properly. If the LCD panel shows "ERR" and "E" blinking, then the film is not correctly advanced. If the LCD panel shows a blinking "E" when the exposure meter is turned on, then film remains in the camera after it has been rewound. In all cases, reload film.

If it's not one of those cases, or if the problem persists, please reply to this post giving further details.

How do you load film into the Nikon N8008S

http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm

Open back, insert film cartridge, pull leader to red mark, close back, press shutter button.

See above URL for a downloadable manual. For the N8008s you're better off with the F-801s manual.

Loading the N8008 camera

1. Set the film speed manually or DX to do it automatically by holding down the ISO button and turning the command dial.

2. Slide the camera back lock releases toward each other to open the back.

3. Insert the film cartridge on the left.

4. Pull film leader over to the red index mark on the right.

5. Close the back, making sure there's no slack in the film, and the lock releases snapped close.

6. Lightly press the shutter button. The film icon will appear in the LCD panel.

7. Fully depress the shutter button to automatically advance film to frame 1.

You can download a manual from http://www.butkus.org/chinon/nikon.htm

Nikon N75 - error message, nothing working.

You have to reset the rewind counter by pushing the two buttons simultaneously - one on the side of the lens mount, the other by the release button - red, cassette symbols. This tells the camera there's no film in it.
