Question about Olympus Mju Tough 8000 Compact Digital Camera

1 Answer

Sometimes it will not power up. When it does it some times displays low battery, then I restart it and it displays full battery, and then while in use it will turn off with empty battery. I have also changed batteries, with the same result.

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

Canon PowerShot SX110 IS Digital Camera charge fully battery after one pics show low battery sign

This is probably a battery issue and not a camera issue. Batteries with low output or low power can be due to them sitting and not being used for long periods of time. This can affect their ability to get a full charge as their "memory" is reduced regardless of what the charge light indicator displays. Even taking a battery that has been sitting for a long period and charging it to full charge, might only have limited power. Some of these can be returned to almost full capacity, but it takes multiple, repeated, alternating, charges and power deletions to rebuild the memory. In many cases, however, the battery just needs to be replaced.

Low Power Warning For Full Charged Camera Battieres

I have noticed that, some users asked that, there old cameras always display low power warning for full charged new batteries, or there will be a low power warning after only taking 5-6 pictures.

If you have met this question (I wish not), I'd like to share the solutions.

The this problem are so common for Canon PowerShot A series cameras when you try to powered your camera by Ni-MH batteries. Package, manuel and receipt were accidentally thrown away and we don't know how to charge the radios. They work, but are running low on battery power! They have a power supply cord that you plug both...

From what I just read on the Cobra website, you may be misinterpreting the battery indicator lights:

My radio keeps showing low batteries

This may simply be a matter of misinterpreting the low-battery indicator. We use two different types of battery indicators:
 1. Battery Level Indicator: This battery indicator is always visible, and has several segments. When all the segments are lit, the batteries are full. When only the last segment is lit, the batteries are almost exhausted.
 2. Low Battery Indicator: This type is usually NOT visible. It only appears when the batteries are low, at which time it flashes on the display to warn you of a low battery condition.
Please note that when you turn on your radio it first performs a display test. Everything on the display will light up for a few seconds, including the Low Battery Indicator. This does not mean that the batteries are low. After a few seconds the display test will end, at which time the Low Battery Indicator should go away.

Here is a link to the Manual for your radio:

https://www.cobra.com/downloads/manuals/PR260WX_MANL.pdf

It is a PDF file, which requires that you have Adobe Reader or equivalent installed on your computer for it to open and display properly. If you don't have it, it can be found here (it's free!):

Good luck!

No power

Try disconnecting the power supply and start it on battery only.
After you see a screen display of some kind, the power supply can be reconnected.
If this does not work, then remove the battery and start the computer using the power supply only.
After the computer start up sequence is complete, the battery can be re-inserted into the computer.

If the computer continues to misbehave on later restarts, then follow the more rigorous BATTERY RECALIBRATION Procedure below.

1. Now, after the system is up and running with both the battery inside and the power supply connected, after taking note of the current settings so that they can be restored later, set the power plan to High Perfomance, set the computer to Never Sleep on Battery and on Power Supply, disconnect the power supply and allow the computer to run until it shuts itself off due to a low battery condition. This will discharge the battery and performs phase one of battery re-calibration.

2. Next, plug in the power supply, while leaving the battery in place and restart the computer. Allow the battery to fully recharge while leaving the power plan at High Performance and the Sleep to Never. This performs phase two of battery re-calibration.

3. Then, disconnect the power supply and allow the computer to run until it shuts itself off due to a low battery condition, again, now that it has a possibly better, fuller charge than in the previous charge/discharge cycle.

4. Again, restart the computer, connect the power supply and allow it to completely charge the battery.

5. Shut down the computer, disconnect the power supply.

6. Restart the computer and allow the computer to run until it shuts itself off due to a low battery condition again.

7. Now the battery has been recalibrated. Connect the power supply, restart/resume the computer and allow the battery to fully charge again. The Power Plan and Sleep Mode can be set back to their original settings at this time.

8. The above procedure should only need to be performed every six to twelve months to recalibrate the battery.

This condition sometimes happens to my HP Presario when I have left the power supply plugged into the computer with the battery in for several days or weeks at a time, without running on the battery alone for a while to discharge and recharge it a little bit.

HP recommends that when running your computer for more than two weeks from the power supply, the battery should be removed to slow the aging of the battery, which can cause the battery to lose capacity or fail prematurely.

I have a shure ULX-1m1 transmitter with full battery but will not work. screen comes up green nothing on the display and the battery light is red, what could this be? and how do I fix it

First, sometimes LCD screens have an intesity/angle control and at extreme range of these characters are sometimes not visible. Check you manual to see if your unit might have such a setting.

Also this unit has some control lockouts so make sure it is unlocked so the automatic frequency selection can be made.

Verify the status of the LED in your manual. MANY Shure mics display the LED red when battery is low.

DO NOT trust a battery as being full because it is new.

ALSO DO NOT USE rechargeable batteries in these as the rechargeable battery does NOT produce 9 volts... usually only 7.2 volts (in spite of the labeling) which is insufficient and will give a low battery indication.

I have a problem with my Nokia N72 cell phone it is not displaying anything just a white colour is displaying"

nokia n72 has a slow operating system which gets even slower if the battery is low and thw problems are doubled if the memory is near full. Sometimes unsupported applications hang on it which can only be stopped by removing the battery and restarting the phone.Restarting may take a lot of time but have patience and once the phone restarts delete the application which caused the hanging. An advice is to keep the memory card half empty.

Battery

When batteries are low and they are not used for a period of time, they can build up enough voltage to give a full battery indication. The batteries only had enough power to shoot one image. The batteries are exhausted and need to be replaced or recharged.
