I have a Symbol MC70, it seems to be stuck in a warm boot loop, I have extracted the boot files to a SD card and have tried to do an update loader, but the unit just says the update was unsucsseful and will restart with more information about the problem, it them restart and just gets stuck in the warm boot screen again. At boorup press F8 and enter the blu screen. Here you will find an option LAST GOOD BOOTUP or some such thing. Select this option and the computer will bootup without the update.Once it bootsup you can remove this update from Control Panel->Add Remove programs. Here you must select the Show Windows Updates. Select the most recent ones and remove them.

How to extract the firmware onto sd card?

Hi Scott,

Unfortunately, you can't export the firmware from a Motorola/Symbol device to SD Card or a computer via USB (I would love to be able to do that but you cant as far as I know...)

Thanks

How to factory default Mc75 device

Resetting the MC75

There are two reset functions, warm boot and cold boot. A warm boot restarts the MC75 by closing all running

programs. A cold boot also restarts the MC75, and also resets the clock. Data saved in flash memory or a memory

card is not lost.

If the MC75 is not functioning properly, perform a warm boot first. If the MC75 still does not respond, perform a cold

boot.

Performing a Warm Boot

Hold down the Power button for approximately five seconds. As soon as the MC75 starts to boot release the

Power button.

Performing a Cold Boot
To perform a cold boot simultaneously press the Power button and the 1 and 9 keys.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Motorola mc7090 bought faulty fixed problem but now when i start up it goes to preinstalled supermarket operating System . How can i put new windows or other OS on the unit. thanks

Hello kjexpert,
just download the OS Update files for MC70 from support.symbol.com and follow the instructions. As you are not able to access the OS now, you would need an SD Card to proceed with the update.
Or to make it more easy, install an remote control software like Sparus Control, then can you view the running processes in the device and kill the supermarket software.

MC70: the scanners are becoming slow, not loading and no...

You could try and blank the Application folder. This would require installing any software and settings you require:-

Clean Boot Files for WM5
http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=11744&sliceId=&dialogID=175898313&stateId=1%200%20175894231

Clean Boot Files for WM6
http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=12268&sliceId=&dialogID=175898313&stateId=1%200%20175894231

Also there is a firmware update for the Siemens MC75 v2 GSM card. That may help your SIM issues.

http://support.symbol.com/support/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=12351&sliceId=&dialogID=175898529&stateId=1%200%20175894293

If its not that try and clean you SIM card and contacts.

Hopethis helps.

you need to use a piece of software from motorola, follow the link below and download "MC70cleaners"

unzip it onto the root of an SD card, put SD card in EDA,press power +1+9 together after 20 seconds release them, press top right button, updater will start, u need the mains plugged in, after it has finished it will boot into windows mobile.

M7094 Warm Boot Error

Go to devzone.symbol.com, then click on the "Click here to enter Support Central" link. From there enter "clean boot" in the search box and select "Mobile Computers" in the Product Line drop-down and MC70 in the Product drop-down. Then click "Go". When the results are displayed, choose to sort by "Most recent" instead of "Most relevant". Then the first entry will be the clean boot files for if your device is running WM 6.1, and the one that's about 5 entries down will be the clean boot files for if your device is running WM 5.0.

Questions:

Have you tried the classic "hard boot"?

Do you have a WAN or LAN radio configuration?
Has the device worked for you in the past ... and no will not?

Until you answer my questions and I get back to you you might try pulling the battery out for 10 min or so... see if it reboots when you reinstall it
