Question about Samsung Phone PDCSLCD12B

1 Answer

No Access to MMC 722

I need to get in the MMC 722 to change button locations on the DCS-816, but can't access it.

I have tried using the MMC 800 route, but all I get is "NOT PERMIT" when I enter 722 after the country prompt.

All I seem to have access to is 102 -121.

can you help!

    Thanks for the reply.

    This the problem, that's what I've been trying RTFM....

    I just keep getting the error "NOT PERMIT" as it does not except a MCC higher than 201.

    Help me, I'm going mad!

    Give me a high encryption 2048 bit algorithm any day, just don't ask to work the bloody switchboard or fax machine....

    oops, have already defaulted the system with MCC 811 as the MCC 800 didn't work... But still can't get to MCC 722.

    OK lets do it this way, as you seem to know what your doing on switchboards. I'll tell you what the system used to do, and how it is now, you can tell me how to get it back to what it was...PLEASE!

    The system as it was before the move:

    701 - 1st Line

    702 - 2nd Line

    213 - Analog Line for answering machine (line 701)

    214 - Analog Line for answering machine (line 702)

    Ex - 202, 203, 204, 205, 206

    201 - Switch board

    Door switch for mag lock

    Door Bell

    To get outside line dial "0"

    To answer call from extension dial "28"

    To open mag lock answer, and dail "13"

    Switchboard buttons:

    1 = call 1

    2 = call 2

    3 = Line 1

    4 = Line 2

    5 = 213

    6 = 214

    7 = Night Service

    System when moved, but wired the same:

    (That's the bit I don't get)

    702 - 2nd Line

    704 - 1st Line

    215 - Analog Line, but no night service

    216 - Analog Line but no night service

    Ex - 202, 203, 204, 205, 206

    201 - Switch board

    Door switch for mag lock

    Door Bell

    To get outside line dial "9"

    To answer call from extension dial "Doesn't work"

    To open mag lock answer, and dail "Doesn't work"

    Switchboard buttons:

    1 = call 1

    2 = call 2

    3 = "No Service"

    4 = Line 2

    5 = "No Service"

    6 = Line 1

    7 = "No Service"

    As you can see I need help......

    DIA!

    The password for mmc 800 is 4321 & mmc 200 is 1234, so they seem the same and the system does except them.

    waiting for your reply, and thank you again for this...

    ok, the only other way to log in is via the technician log in.

    Press transfer

    dial 800

    Passcode = 4321

    press 1

    press speaker

    dial 722

    If this does not work, it is because the default passcode has been changed. the only other way to do this is to default the telephone system and then you have to reprogram everything like:

    line ringing

    btn programming

    stuff like that. I hope this works for you. If you have to default the system, I can help you with the programming. Let me know before you default ...

    Sorry it took a bit to get back to you, been a little busy. I need to check to see if the password on a default system is the same in South Africa as it is in the US and the mmc codes may be a little different. I will get back with you tomorrow. Meanwhile , try to use mmc 723, which is system wide btn programming based on phone type. Choose the type of phone (i.e. 7btn,12btn,24btn,etc.)

To change the ringing on a prostar 816 you first need to be at a display set (doesn't matter what the extension number is).
with the handset down enter #20 the screen should say MMC DISABLED
enter in 1 2 3 4 1 # (that enables programming)

press the line you wish to program
press the buttons for the extensions that you wish to ring (the ones in the right next to the handset)

The message button on a Samsung Prostar 816 won't stop blinking, how do I stop it?

If you have tried clearing the message by following the prompts on the the message key and this doesn't work, try going into MMC 722 and assigning a key to be MSG. then once you have done this try to clear the message following prompts on your screen.I have uploaded a video showing how to program the soft key, written tutorial is on www.abbeytelecom.com

Samsung DCS 40 Prostar

Could you repost your question and tell me the type of phone system you have, you say it is a DCS 40 Prostar but I do not recall the 40, only the 408, 612 and 816. also MMC 601 is for station groups and 603 is for trunks. I'll be glad to help if you can clear this up for me. Thanks, .....Mike

Prostar 816 Toll Restriction

The Station Toll Class of the phone needs to be changed to a Toll Class 5 which allows 911 calls and certain numbers set in MMC # 94. The program to do this is MMC # 30. The problem is when MMC # 30 is accessed it displays the Toll Class for all 16 phones so use caution that you do not change the wrong extension. If you still need help with this problem please repost and I can walk you thru the process.

On hold Music

On the Prostar 816 the MOH is connected to the BK-OR/OR-BK wires of the Female connector on the Base Champ Connector. You will need to connect the Headset jack connector to this location, that means cutting off the headset/ear piece from the wire and terminating it to the BK-OR pair of wires. Then MMC 309 and 408 are used to program the music on hold source to the stations and trunks.

Some of the buttons don't work and the Hold function doesn't work

The Prostar 816 phone system can only use Prostar 816 phones. There is a rare larger Prostar system that can use other Prostar phones along with the 816 but typically was only installed in situations where more than 16 phones were needed. If you are looking at non-prostar phones like the Samsung DCS 12 then they certainly will not work.
