First, download the software at http://www.box.net/shared/4yblbn34kg

Secondly, to run the software your printer has to be in service mode. Do that by
- unplug cable
- press and hold "power" button
- plug cable
- press "resume" and release
- release the "power" button
At this stage, your computer will detect a new hardware

Run the software.

oke

Error msg says "COLD PRINT HEAD"

Hello,

1. The Printhead/Controller
cable assembly is
disconnected.
2. The environment is too cold
for the printhead to sustain
operating temperature.
1. Make sure the printhead/
controller cable assembly is
connected to J401 at the
printhead and J6 on the
controller PCBA.
2. Move the printer to a
warmer location.

If none of this works you might have a bad printhead. The thermistor on the printhead has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

Please contact me if a printhead is needed or if you have any other questions. I am also an ASR for Printronix meaning I can supply you with new and used parts and printers.

Thanks

Lexmark x1185 cartridge error msg

Step 1). Try cleaning the gold contacts on the print cartridge and on the printer itself with a pen eraser and a little alcohol.

Step 2). Uninstall the printer software and reinstall it.

Step 3). If the above two steps fail try a new cartridge. If none of these solutions work there is an electronic problem with the printer and it will have to be professionally diagnosed or replaced.

Hope this was of some help to you.

Black pic on tv fm dvd rec

Several possibilities. If there is a HD box going into this unit, it will give you this message. If there is a modulator or converter box between the cable/sat box and this unit, it will give you that msg. If you have an input plugged into an input, it will give you this msg. Finally, if you have anything other than a camcorder plugged into the FRONT of this unit, it will give you this message. Recheck your connections.

Just fixed mine. :-) I highlighted in yellow a small absorbtion pad that sits under the "home" position for the ink heads. This pad was tilted on its side and prevented mechanisms from moving. Once I put it back in its place, everything appears to be working. You might be able to reach this without taking the cover off, but it is tricky. See http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/37440 for some info on care with cover removal.
