Have you set the dvd defaut settings in your operating system? if you havent set this for a program to use to play the dvd's its possible that it doesnt recognize it. go to your start menu then all programs select default programs. then choose change auto play settings. these settings all ahve drop down menus of the available media players on your pc choose the one you want to use. this should help you out
