Hello Steve, some new about your trouble?. I disassembly the machine and verified that the battery is with enough charge, 3.10 volts, but the trouble continues. Please tell me if you found a solution, thank you.

Hi since you have disassembled can you look carefully around the battery for any burnt components under a magnifying glass . An RTC Batt., voltage of 3.10 volts is good enough . Also look for a small crystal around the RTC section if this is not soldered properly then the real time clock will not work.

What I believe they were mentioning is Flash the BIOS to the most current version, which should on the Acer support site (Support.acer.com or such)
If the old battery wasn't charging and the new one doesn't either then there also may be a hardware issue with the charging circuit if the BIOS flash doesn't resolve, at which time you discuss that issue with Acer if under warranty.
