The encoder on the end of the drum assembly is contaminated with the lubricant from the maintenance kit.
You need to remove the right side cover, looking from the front. Look at the end of the drum, there will be an assambly about an inch and a half to 2 inches square with a couple of wires running into it.
That needs to be cleaned thoroughly with alcohol. It is contaminated and will cause the drum to run at the wrong speed.

I have a Canon printer. Whenever pictures or text gets a double or blurry image I open the printer solutions menu. It sounds as though there is a problem with inkjet alignment. By clicking the realignment button the printer will automatically realign the jets. I usually test the alignment by printing a page from that program. All the line segments should line up.

Xerox Phaser 7300 color misregistration

Apparently, turning the unit off for 30 seconds, then back on will force the Phaser 7300 to do a color alignment procedure (according to Xerox support).

Then, if the problem persists, you are instructed to follow a very detailed troubleshooting procedure which I will leave with you in the following link:

Xerox Phaser 7300 Misregistration Issues

I hope this helps!

My print jobs keep coming out with smears in certain spots and now the entire print job is blurred. I've cleaned it several times. How do I correct that myself?

If the entire page is blurred, it is probably a dying wave amp board. Time to start shopping because the repair bill is more than a new 8560.

Zebra xi III Plus printing shadows and blurred text on labels. Initial printing was fine but all prints now have a shadow and blurred text.

Try adjusting your printhead. If that doesn't work you might need to replace.

Please contact me if you have any question or if you come across needing a printhead for your unit.

I carry all parts for that printer in stock .

Phaser 8500N Text looks like a shadow or an echo effect

there is an encoder on the end of the drum drive shaft. located on the right frame of the machine.
It becomes contaminated with the silicon lubricant from the maintenance kit, and off the rotating drum.
You remove the power from the machine, remove the encoder, and flush it thoroughly with alcohol. Then give it time to dry well, and put it back on the shaft. That WILL correct that problem. It is possible the encoder is bad, but I really do not suspect that because your problem is intermittent. But that is your problem, I guarantee it.

I HAVE A XEROX 8560 THAT I AM GETTING BLURRED PRINT WITH, I DID THE CLEANING CYCLE AND THAT WORKED FOR A DAY AND A HALF. NOW THE FIRST TWO PAGES LOOK GOOD AND ALL THE REST ARE BLURRED?

Oil from the drum has ran off over the drum encoder position sensor.

Take the right cover off and find the fan. Remove it and loosen the clear plastic sensor cover underneatch. Clean the sensor and generally with Isopropyl and Q-tip.

Clean the nearby wires and anything that might be transporting more oil back to your sensor

Printer output has shadows, blurring, streaks, lines, poor color

Seem like blocked hole(s) on the color print head...
Most likely if there is a deep clean option then do it (may need a few times to unblock a hole or never).
Also get the printer physically cleaned up if you can see dusts inside (vrtical lines on color bars).
