There are two and they are connected to the gearbox then to each wheel(one a peice), they are located under the dump bed, then you can remove the seats and the top panel covering the motors and wires

Here are the printable instructions from the Perego website.

From what I can tell, there are levers on both sides of the grill that you press to flip the grill down to the ground. You can then get to the battery to pull it out and charge it.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: old john deere gator and battery new charger still will not move

Could be several things.  Your battery could be bad. After not being charged for a while, they do go bad- often. You may want to try a new battery along with your new charger.  You could also have a switch /connection problem. If you get a new battery and it still doesnt work, you may want to check the switches and wiring. It is not uncommon for the switch to go bad especially if it had been stored outside.

SOURCE: cannot find out how to get to the battery for a

Where the front bully bar is, there is an indent in the middle , enough for your phillips head screw driver to get into, you must undo that screw and there will be a tab on either side of that panel to pull and the front bummer assembly will hinge out towards you, you can then unplug the battery and connect your charger..

Good luck!!

John deer gator 12v will not go into reverse or fast

try disconnecting on of the motors and see if the problem goes away, if it doesn't then reconnect and then disconnect the other rear motor, if the problem goes away after disconnecting on of the rear motors then that motor is your issue

There is no problem..., the way it is built is the forward motor is on the left wheel assembly, and the reverse motor is on the right wheel.
