Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

Keypad The keypad on my Motorola SLVR L7 is messed up. This phone has only been used a total of 30 hours in a year and now you have to push the button you need many, many times to get it to work - if it works at all. I can't answer an incoming call because pushing the button does not work. We were told to take the phone apart and clean with contact cleaner but were unable to open the phone. my phone buttons are constantly stop working friends told me that it mighgt be a problem with the ribbon.

My honest suggestion is to have your cellphone serviced at this point ,since cellphones are very delicate and the electronics are micro small, so its better to have it fix by an authorized cellphone tech. hope this helps AJ

This is true, the flex cable for your keypad may be getting messed up, fortunately flex cables are often very cheap if you look int the right places, you will also need the cellphone screwdriver kit they have the special t3, t5, and t6 screwdrivers needed to disassemble the phone

It is the problem of your ribbon flex that is connector..
If you have not a good hand you cant do it. Take it to a Motorola Repair Center.

I'm sure the phone will be full functional again.

Yes, both the external keypad and the PCB assembly are relaceable. Here is one that I found online for $59 and change. http://www.cellulardr.com/0171038A01.htm . If you visit some other online resources you may find an instructional video on how to replace the PCB assembly and the tools required. Hope that helps.

Ok , you will need a new keypad , these you can find on ebay if you search " replacement keypad for motorola slvr " these will cost you about 3 pound , and then to fit it you will need a set of torx screwdrivers remove the screws and then if you pull the front of the phone of it shud come off with ease and then you will see the old keypad and just swap it with your new replacement 1 , hope i helped .
