You need a class 6 card for smooth video. A class 4 sometimes works but a class 6 always works. Stick with the name brands.

My Panasonic DMC-ZS7 camera is not recognizing the SD card and filled up the internal memory, what to do?

Remove the memory card from the computer, now! go into the camera menu and locate "format" follow the prompt to erase all pictures, after that is completed, you can install the card back in the camera for normal use.

My Lumix DMC ZS7 reads "insert sd card again" when I have a full sd card inserted. The sd card is "verbatim sdhc 4gb" any idea? Thanks in advance

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

If your manual doesn't specifically mention SDHC cards or memory card size bigger than 2GB, then the camera almost certainly won't work with SDHC. My Lumix won't work with anything larger than 1GB SD.

I have just purchased a Lumic Panasonic camera DMC-FS10. Could you please tell me what memory card is the best to purchase for this model. Thank you

Your camera can use both SD and SDHC (high-capacity) cards. With 14 megapixels, I'd recommend the SDHC. If you're going to shoot videos, get a class 6 card. It's more expensive but it shoots videos trouble-free. Sandisk is a good brand.

Video compatiablity problems

Do not try to use the same card from another camera. You run the risk of losing all your pics and possibly corrupting the card and the camera. Download any pics from the card to the computer using a separate card reader if necessary. Then, if you want to use the card in your new camera, format it in the camera first.

How do I unlock the memory card for Panasonic DMC-TZ3. Suddenly locked - has always worked fine until today!

take the sd card out , there should be a loch on the left side when facing the card with the label up, slide the lock down and try agian or try a different card or else remove all power , wait 30 min , insert battery and try to see if the camera goes on (most pansonics have built in memory , so check if you can record a picture if yes then try the card agian )

Video

Hi, the best thing you can do is to buy a 1 or 2 Gigabyte SD Card. Taking videos is at about ~100 MByte / minute. So if you take a 1 GIG-SD Card you may take ~10-12 minutes video or at a 2 GigByte SD Card you may take ~20-22 minutes (pure video).( But you may change to still picture in the meantime as you like).

Putting in the SD Card, swith on your camera, choose the video mode and push 'LCD Mode': there you'll see the info "R 22m47sec" on your LCD on the upper right position - for example.
This is the review-function and is your best way to check your video (while choosing the review-position on your wheel and than push the "6 o'clock"=review button on the camera and your video will start.
Have fun, you're also able to use the zoom-in while taking videos.
The DMC TZ1 is a beautiful camera.
