Replaced old bag with correct new one. It ran fine. I took it out of pool to clean bag. When I put it back into pool, it wouldn't sink and when, I applied power, motor would not run. What do I do next?

Thank you for posting your question here on Fixya.com.

For starters, try the tip I posted here on Fixya, found at: http://www.fixya.com/support/r3651526-dolphin_pool_cleaner_wont_start_up. If that is not enough, try our sites FAQ section on Dolphins at www.arrowpools.net. Select the FAQ button then from the drop-down select Dolphin.

If you still have a problem it could be in the power supply, cable or motor unit. The motor unit is the most likely problem.

It is not recommended you open the cord end that connects to the motor unit as you are breaking the seal for the submersible electronics. For information about sending your unit in for repair use the dolphin form link on the bottom of our site

If this answer does not fix your problem, please comment with additional details prior to rating the answer. Positive feedback is appreciated once your problem is solved!

Motor fires up fine runs slightly rough for about 10 seconds then smooths out for about 5 seconds and cuts off. Will start right back up after about 5 seconds and does the same thing. I have drained the...

Previous owner had way overfilled crankcase oil. Oil had gotten into carb and clogged air filter. Drained oil to correct level. Ran engine but kept cutting off-see above. Took off carb cover cleaned housing and ran without air filter-ran fine. Unsuccessfully tried to clean air filter with gas-did not work. Apparently, the engine could run just long enough to exhaust the air in the old filter and cut off which is why it would start back up after a few seconds. Bought new air filter-whole thing-about $15 at Carquest. Put in some carb cleaner and installed the new filter and it runs perfectly.

My baioniar fan not work properly only swing but not start motor so what can I do . there is no machnic hear that co'z u tel me how ripiar this

I found my own solution for fixing my fan, I took the cover off of the fan by removing the base, and the three screws that hold the cover on, I cold start the fan by turning it on and forcing the blades to turn, But that was the only way it would work. What I found was at the top of the shaft that goes through the fan there is a rubber cap that holds grease it is held on with two screws , The grease in the cup was hard and wouldn't let the fan move freely, So I cleaned out the old grease and put in some new grease that I had here it is grease used for my pool pump motors to keep the seals soft so this grease wont get hard. I put the fan back together and it is working fine. I hope that this works for you. Denis K.

We just filled our intex pool...we ran put 2 bags of salt...ran the salt water system...the pool is a light color of yellow...can you help us please?

It is likely that the color is silt, fine dirt that is in most water systems, not normally a problem, just a visual. The filter should be able to clean it up in a day or so....

Won't idle and slow to accelerate took to the need to adj carb..

Call the repair shop and inquire what ratio fuel/oil mix they used. If they tuned it to operate at 50:1 and you fill it with 32:1 it will impact performance. HTH
Lou
Replace the plug if you ran it rich for a period of time. How old is your fuel mix? 1.5 months is all that is recommended. Clean the air filter.

Dolphin p;ool clener will not sink to the bottom of the pool

Put it in the water and turn it upside down to let out all of the air. If it still won't sink look at the filter bag. If it is getting older and discolored it may need to be replaced.

A simple test is to remove it from the bottom lid and fill it with water like a water skin. If the water leaks out slowly or hardly at all, replace the bag. You could try washing it of course but it usually only helps for a short time if at all.

After a while the screen flickers and then shuts off and won't restart. Especially in hot weather

Thomas,
I am not sure if this is what I experienced, but it won't hurt to take a look at what I did.

I had a similar problem.
My TV started to flicker and I put a new bulb in. The new bulb did not help, even if it is good to replace after a couple thousand hours.
I found out that my heat sink, which is sitting on the CPU with the mirrors came loose and the unit overheated and shut off after flickering a while.
Try to take the lower back panel off and you see a heat sink which is sitting in the center of a aluminum sheet metal piece. Disconnect the wires which are attached to the circuit board behind the sheet metal. Then take off the screws holding the sheet metal and pull it gently off. It will take a little force, but it does not damage anything. Now you see the heat sink on the circuit board held by a latch going across the heat sink.
On the upper right corner you will find the handle to open the latch. Once you did it , you can take the heat sink off and see the main CPU (as I took the latch off, my heat sink fell off).
On my heat sink the Heat Sink Compound Paste creating the connection between the CPU and the heat sink dried out and became brittle, son there was no connection anymore and the heat couldn’t be transported out through the heat sink, which is cooled by a fan on the left.
I took the brittle Heat Sink Compound Paste off and applied a generous portion of the one that I bought at Radio Shack. I used a Silicone-Base Heat Sink Compound which ran $4.99 excl. tax.
After applying the paste put the heat sink gently in and when you do, you will feel like a suction indicating that you have a connection between the CPU and the heat sink.
Now you need to put all parts back together.

If you are not familiar with electronics and those wires or wouldn’t hurt or would be wise to mark the connectors and to make pictures before removing them. This will save you a lot of frustration.

I hope this helps you and brings your TV back to life. My TV was cutting out after 25 minutes and runs now like a charm.
Good luck.

PS: If you experience a black screen with vertical stripes (mine were white and green) then most likely the light engine needs to be replaced, I had this after 9 months and got it fixed under warranty

Ecofan only turns slowly

These fans can be rebuilt! Like many others, our fan died after being placed in the center of the stove top. I took the two halves of the fan body apart, and scraped the heat sink compound off either side of the power plate. I then applied CPU heat sink compound that can be found at any computer or electronics store liberally to either side, and put it back together. The fan spins like new, spread the word!
