It was installed a week ago (brand new); it worked properly for a week and now it is not cooling. So you think the leak has made the system low on charge? Thank you for you response

Yes, most of the time the lines are coupled with flare fittings and they heat and cool afew times... then they leak abit...it does do take much to make it low...

get them back to fix it...

Avanti RM440W mini fridge not cooling.

Hello Dave;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

There are several things to check.

1.) Door Not Sealing Tightly - I addressed this problem by raising the front end of the unit to assist the door in remaining tightly closed.

2.) Bad Thermostat - This is a long white tube about 1/8" in diameter mounted on the liner wall.

3.) Freezer Compartment Iced Up - You only have one cooling source and that is your freezer compartment. If the compartment is full of ice and frost you will not get good cooling.

4.) Refrigerant Leakage - Most Probable - The freezer section is made of formed very thin plate. The raised contours are also very thin. Your owners manual advises not to use hard steel tool to defrost. All to often, my customers use hammers and screw drivers to defrost and nick the contours. Run you hand across the cooling plate. If you feel a oily substance, then you have a refrigerant leak. If you have a service contract, it is less expensive to replace the unit than repair the seal system.

My 1.5 ton,LG split AC shuts off rather

Hello
First the foam insulation is not just for looks, you will have some loss of cooling on the unit, the larger cooper line needs to be insulated, the small one does not.The large line is the suction line, the small one the liquid line.
Voltage,168 is low, sounds like a 208 volt unit or 220 volt.running at 168 or 198 ac volts is going to raise the amperage causing the compressor to run hot and work harder and soon burn up,And cause it to trip the breaker or shut itsself down on high heat.Your going to need to get that voltage fixed.I dont know why it needs a stabilizer if the unit was sized correctly it shouldnt need one.
Hope this helps.

We have 2. LA125HV w/ 1 condensing 1. air handler

I could not find a "fault code" list for the LA125HV but for thier Multi Split Units LG lists code CH7 (C7) as "Indoor Unit is Set in Different Cool/Heat Operation Mode." So maybe your air-handler tihinks it's in Heat mode will the compressor is in Cool mode, or vice-versa....

My mini split turns on but is not cooling. It comes and goes... sometimes it cools, and the majority of time it doesnt. Plus, is leaking water. I live in an island and is hot! I need help!

With out looking at it, I can give you some ideas that could cause these problems. I need to know where the water is coming from? If it is leaking on the inside, this narrows it down some. It sounds to me that the evap. coil is icing up which the unit could be low on freon, you're indoor fan motor may not be running up to speed, a dirty filter or evap. coil. You need to shut the unit off, maybe through the night. Get a latter and remove the cover on the indoor unit. Check and wash the foam filter and look the coil over for excess dirt build up. Leave the cover off for now, and go outside to the outdoor unit. Have someone turn the t-stat to on. Watch and make sure that the outdoor fan stays on and listen very close to see if you can hear the compressor running. It sounds to me that one of the named items I have listed is causing the evap. coil indoors to ice up and blocking the air flow to you're home. Let it run with the cover off and just watch it for a few hours. If it starts to ice up and the filter is removed with cover, and the indoor fan is also blowing air, more than likely, you have a small freon leak which is causing the problem. If I were there, I would know in a few min. what the problem is. As far as the leak, it is the ice melting off and running over and the condesate line may have a partial plug in it. If it is low on freon, you can go outside and put your hand on the larger copper line to see if it is warm. It should be sweating or condesating if it is charged properly. If warm or barely cool, more than likely it needs a charge and leak check.

LG 18000 ac leaks water in the front of unit indoors.

Hi,

the drain pan is either clogged or the unit is not mounted properly. If the drain pan is clogged simply clean it and the problem goes away. In the case of the unit mounting, check the angle of the unit and the drain pan inside, if it tilted to the front even just a little then water would leak. the drain pan should lean toward the drain and away from the front.

I hope this helps.
