Question about Bosch 4000 - 07 Electric Table Saws
Sounds like you have a major electrical problem possibly, when it overheated did you get a burning smell from it and if so it could have burnt up the field and or armature. If you are comfortable with disassembly let me know and I will try and help

The motor is AC (alternating current) and only runs in one direction. Therefore, the only way to reverse the saw blade direction is to flip the position of the motor 180 degrees. The teeth of the blade should be pointing down and face to the left when you are standing in front of the saw. The blade should travel down into the table so the blade pushes the work into the table. I hope this helps since it sounds like the blade may be installed incorrectly.
