Pioneer sc-lx83 wont turn on. After a short circuit of speaker cable amp does not turn on? what is the circuit reset key combination anyone knows?

This is mostly the receiver going into safety-mode and shutting down. You can try if your receiver comes back on after disconnecting the powercord for a while (10 minutes should be sufficient). If that isn't the case, the receiver will most likely have blown a fuse or (an)other component(s). The only thing to do then, is to bring it in for repair.

I have a Durabrand CD player (model CD-1095) and I can't find the cord to plug it in, so I wanted to buy another cord without having to buy a whole other CD player. Is that possible?

A standard web search found the obvious answer.

"Durabrand CD-1095 power cord"

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_get_a_cord_for_a_Durabrand_CD_player_model_cd_1095

"You can purchase a generic power cord at Radio Shack. I had the same exact model and found that their catalog number 61-2875 was a perfect fit. It lists for $7.99. To be sure, take your radio in for an exact match. Good luck! :o)"

Hi,
It sounds like you haven't followed the last step to the burning procedure. All you need to do once you've completed burning your disc is to Finalize the disc. Read below why you need to finalize as well as the steps to follow in order to finalize the disc.
Hope this helps ;)
How to Finalize Finalizing is writing the TOC (table of contents) on a disc so a CD player can recognize the number of tracks, the total time for each track, and their location on the disc. A recorded disc must be finalized to playback on a standard CD player. Once finalized a CD-R disc can be played on CD players that support CD-R playback. CD-RW discs can only be played on CD players that support CD-RW playback. Consult your CD player owner's manual to confirm supported formats. Finalizing is necessary to: • be able to play a recorded CD-R or CD-RW disc on a CD player • prevent further recording on a disc • avoid erasing tracks on a CD-RW disc • record text information onto a disc you record Notes: • A finalized CD-R disc can never be recorded onto again. • A finalized CD-RW disc can be unfinalized for more recording. • The CDR300 can play back unfinalized CD-R or CD-RW discs. • SYNC REC+FINAL mode automatically finalizes.
Here are the steps in order to Finalize your disk
1 Push Stop. The display shows the number of tracks and their total playing time. 2 Push FINALIZE. FINALIZE is displayed for about 3 seconds.

I need to record some music on a CD and I was wondering what kind of CD I need to get to record music on. Will a CD-R work for this?

If you're using a consumer home CD-R recorder it will require you to use CDR-Music or CDR-Audio blank media. A PC will use any recordable CD.

You can pick up a generic power cord for your CD player from places such as Radio Shack. I believe their item # 61-2875 will work for you.

Receiver was dropped and now only the standby light will come on, but nothing else.

I don't want to be the one to say it, but there's a reason for the sticker that says 'no consumer repairable parts within.' If you have an electronic tech for a buddy, let him/her look at it.Shop time will run anywhere from $45-90 hr, with a 1 hr minimum. As low as prices are these days, consumer electronics are now 'throw it out, get a new one' items. Do us all a favor if you trash it. RECYCLE it. Take it to Goodwill, you local solid waste dept. just don't let it end up in a landfill.Odds are it's something simple but it'll cost to find out.
