Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC

EMachine won't start

Won't turn on, at all. It's a model M6810. I'm not sure how old it is, but it was working at least 5 months ago. Then all of a sudden it wouldn't start up. It's fully charged, and the charger light comes on. I've tried researching it but nothings turned up. Is there some keyboard combination I can hold while pressing the power button? Or do I need to replace something?
I don't think there was a virus or the like on it because the laptop was used for business and internet wasn't needed. I'm clueless as to whats wrong.

You might try to bring it up after removing the battery. I've seen a bad battery cause problems like this.

Hi,
With the problem that you have described it looks like the problem could be with the motherboard. As the charger light is coming on the system is getting power ,but there is a problem distributing it.
Try removing the parts like the DVD drive, harddrive and the memory from the system and then powering on the system .If it powers one of these components are causing the failure , otherwise its the motherboard. The follwing link gives you the user manual for your machine , go to the troubleshooting section for more details

Another possible cause is your RAM has failed.
At start up try pressing the delete or F1 buttons to access the laptops setup

If you can't hear the usual whirring sound when you try to press the power button, it is probable that your processor has died on you. It may also be that the battery cells are due for replacing. The LED lights may turn on just fine when in fact your batteries are in trouble.

But more information on your problem may help.

Could be a possible hardware problem. When you say new motherboard, was there an issue with your old one? Were you given the exact same model?

Also, maybe an issue with your power supply.

5 Short BeepsYour motherboard is complaining. Try reseating the memory and rebooting. If that doesn't help, you should consider another motherboard. You could probably get away with just replacing the CPU, but that's not too cost-effective. Its just time to upgrade!

I put new ram in my emachine 5210 why won't it work

If it was working before you put the ram in, then the ram you put in is the problem. Maybe you put in a ram that is not compatible or is bad.

Put the old ram back in to see if it works.

Go to 4 All Memory to make sure you get the memory that is for your computer.

You may need to check to make sure Windows XP was installed properly, if the computer had crashed, you can do a repair, I am a computer technician, and I can tell you, that replacing the power supply will not do that.

As the computer is only 2 months old, you should be able to contact Emachines and have
them send you a recovery disc out for the particular model. As the computer may seem identical, in most cases a recovery disc from your computer will not work because of a different
driver or some other small issue.

It won`t start up I turn it on & it starts to

does your system have adequate ventilation? disconnect external devices, memory, expansion cards, hard drive and optical drive. then check if system will still turn off. if it still turns off, you will need to replace the motherboard. if it doesnt, try reconnecting the removed components one by one to determine which causes the issue.

C1641 intermittent beeps and won't start up

Is is possible that the RAM you put in was not sited properly. Just check it to see if it is right. You might need to troubleshoot by removing one peripheral at a time. Try removing the keyboard, and turn it on and see what happen. If same, mouse, network card, etc until you find the issue.
