Capture of the Composite Video Channel

Hello,

I installed the last Version 4.4 of WinTV V6 on Windows Vista Home Edition and the last MPEG-Decoders. I have a problem capturing the Composite Video Channel with the WinTV-PVR USB2 24xxx device. No audio is to hear and no picture is to see. Screen stays black. Any idea to solve this? None of the described solutions works (Primary, MPEG-Decoders ...).

Best regards

Problem was: Video-out Cable had a problem. Now it is OK and WinTV-PVR USB2 works fine.

You won't like this solution but it's the best.
Wipe off Vista and install XP with all the MS updates.
Vista is a nightmare due to a lack of a well overdue service pack.
Also it works with mostly just newer software and T.V PCI cards will soon be a thing of the past. If you want to keep Vista, I suggest you go and buy yourself a USB digital receiver for around £40.

How were either of these answers inappropriate you ****? It's idiots like you that won't get help in the future. If it turned out to be the cable was faulty then your a complete **** as I assumed you would have at least the small amount of common sence to check that first. Plonker!

I went to the website but couldn't find 958 - I found 950 andn 950Q. I'll paste you the link. If you find yours, all you have to do is click on it and the installation package download comes up on the next page. Just make sure you choose the download for XP and not windows 7.

Hope this helps.

WinTV-T-500 Pixelated screen.

Could be a Ram or Cpu issue. I had a similar problem with ocsasional pixelated picture & discovered my Ram was faulty ( due to overclocking). I replaced the Ram & that fixed the problem.
After another overclock attempt I started getting the same issue as before & realised this time that It was my Cpu causing the issue. By adding a little more voltage to my Cpu the problem was fixed.
This is just to illustrate that the Problem is likely to be a Ram or a Cpu issue, if all else fails. The tuners are heavilly reliant on Ram & Cpu, so any short falls in either can result in an imperfect picture.
Hope that helps...

Is this the right product for me

Hello,

Yes, but make sure the model type is what is listed below although they should all be the same today as there are no standards war. For your PC you will need a video capture card unless your video card has it, chances are it doesn't. You would have an adapter already that came with your video card that has plugs coming out. There would be 5 or 6. If you don't go to tigerdirect.ca or newegg.com and do a search for "video capture card" Prices range from $50 and up. Get one with the best warranty is my advice and if you wish I will find one for you from a reputable card maker. Just ask me by commenting below. And if you have any questions about the details below just ask me by commenting back to me.

No color from VHS on DVD/VHS player

There may be an input selection between Composite and S-Video that needs to be toggled in your Hauppauge software.

Your Hauppauge card may also be in the wrong signal format mode (NTSC or PAL). Your source device and your Hauppauge card need to be in the same mode (both NTSC or both PAL) for the capture to work properly.

If your NV-VP33 is a SCART output, then you may need to check your SCART adapter and your device as not all devices output both S-Video (Y/C - two signals) and Composite (CVBS - one signal) type signals.

If your SCART adapter has both Composite and S-Video outputs, try the other one.

And finally... if you're playing an NTSC tape/DVD in a PAL player, it doesn't mean the output is true NTSC 3.58. Most times it's NTSC 4.43 which is OK for TVs, but NOT okay for video capture devices. Video capture devices need true NTSC 3.58 to sync the color carrier properly.

TV Tuner for my HP

Hello Matt,

WISH YOU HAPPY MERRY CHIRSTMAS!!!!!!!!

I am Vikram Kumar Thumu from India- Hyderabad. I have seen your message on the issue related to the Tv Tuner card. Since, I work with HP as Technical Support I would like to suggest you on this issue.

Well, the "HP ExpressCard TV Tuner for Windows Vista
(RM436AA#ABA)" supports only for Windows Vista.... and it will not work with Windows XP.

If you are lookng for Windows XP Tv Tuner Card, I recommend you to purchase Hauppauge WinTV-PVR USB2 (EC557AA#ABA). As this one supports for Windows XP but needs Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 .

These are available solution for you at this moment . I hope that this should resolve the issue for you.

If you need any other information please do mail me at thumuvikram@rediffmail.com. I'll be glad to help you.

Once again WISH YOU HAPPY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!
