Remove the tube that holds the flex drive from the end of the crankshaft. Lossen and remove the front cover. Remove the throttle cable from the carb. Remove the kill switch wire from the coil module. Remove clutch housing. Remove clutch, Remove flywheel. The recoil unit mates with the bottom of the flywheel and all the aforementioned parts are on the front side of the engine's crankshaft. Once you get the recoil unit off, you remove the old cord and turn the unit several times to "preload" tension on it. Insert the new cord into the guide holes and tie knots to lock it in place. The pull handle must be attatched too or when you let the recoil draw in the new rope, it will keep going and all tension will be lost. Reassemble all the above and good luck!

My weedwacker was working fine. All the sudden it shut down. The rip cord won't pull out to start it up again. Need answer asap. Thanks

Jamie, could be a recoil problem, broken clutch, probable the engine has seized on your weed wacker. You can try and free up, rebuild or replace trimmer. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

I operate a 32cc Weed Wacker from Craftsman. It was working just fine, but all of a sudden stopped running and somehow I cannot pull the start cord, it got stuck. Where should I look first before opening...

The first thing I would do is remove the housing for the pull cord and spring to find out why it isn't pulling. That may be the same reason as to why it stopped and appeared to lock up.

I have a very deep yard. Approx. 150 feet from my nearest power outlet. Can I use your weed trimmer products? What is the recommended wire gage of the power cord I should use.

A 16 Ga extension cord will run 10 amps up to oo feet. Electric weed wackers run between 2 and 4 amps, so you should be fine with a 16 Ga cord.

Replace pull cord on ryobi model cs30 weed wacker

Good fix, mrfixit-jerr! Also, if you remove the rear cover (4 screws) you can stabilize the crankshaft by inserting a screwdriver between the lobe of the shaft and the counterweight.
