Question about Toro 51573 Leaf Blower

1 Answer

Just recently, my Toro blower vac has had a reduction in the amount of air blowing. When I take off the wand attachment, but put back on the fan guard, it blows on full power. But when I attach the wand and put back on the fan guard, the blow power is substantially reduced. Seems like air is getting out around the fan guard. I can't figure any way to fix it. Any suggestions?

Try some sticky back foam to seal the gap up,,the type you stick around doors and windows to stop the cold draft blowing through gaps,,,,,
well if it works on doors it should work the other way around?

when you remove the vac part there should be another "grid type" part that snaps in place of the vac tube. This engages the safety switch and keeps your fingers out of the impeller.

Motor was losing power and burning

If you're Toro electric blower is slowing down, throwing sparks, overheating or not starting you may need to replace the carbon brushes. Replacing brushes and cleaning commutator early can prevent damage to motor armature!
There are Electric Motor replacement carbon brushes on E-bay for all three motor sizes (7 AMP, 10.5 AMP, and 12 AMP) of Toro Leaf Blowers (Toro Rake and Vac Super and Ultra Blower and "850" Vacuums)
Search E-bay for: "Toro Blower Carbon Brush"
- 12 Amp leaf blowers Toro Super (Old model 51552) through Toro Ultra (New model 51609).
- Toro 850 Super Blower Shredder-Vac 12 Amp (model 51575).
- 10.5 Amp leaf blowers Toro Old through Toro New model 51573.

How to convert blower to vac. Toro 850 super blower/vac

Hi,

Remove the air inlet guard on the bottom by pressing the release and pulling down on the guard. It will tilt off. Remove the blower pipe from the front of the machine by pressing the tab and wiggling it off (It is usually a tighter fit than the air guard). Install the vacuum pipe on the air inlet, where the guard was removed. Install the bag where the air blower pipe was removed.

Best regards, --W/D--

Vacuum works, but blower doesn't

Make sure that the vacum houseing on blower is closed all the way and/or snaps shuts to engage for blowing once you have removed all vacum attachments.

#51574 Toro Rake&Vac--Lost manual

You should have another door that goes in front of the impeller (blade) which doesn't have a vacuum attachment. You should first detach the vacuum door from the bottom, put on the blower tube, and install the other door that came with the blower. Hope that helps.

I need instructions for using my Toro vacuum/ mulcher attachments

Mine is a Black & Decker so I don't know if this will help. On mine there is one release button near the top of the handle. You press that down to release and remove either the blower tube or the vacuum bag assembly, whichever is currently on -- you can't have both! Then you engage the attachment you want to put on into a pivot at the bottom of the handle assembly, press the release button and engage the attachment at the top.
