This indicates that your computer is configured to boot on the floppy drive.
1. At the start of the computer Press F2
2. Go to the Boot Device Configuration.
3. Enable Hard Disk Boot Priority.
4. Set the First Boot Priority to Hard Disk
5. Save and Exit.

Please let me know of the outcome. Thank you and regards.

Floppy diskette seek failure during start-up

Hello,
You can disable that by changing the boot sequence of your computer.
Turn on or restart your computer and watch for a message while your computer is restarting about a particular key, usually Del or F2, that you'll need to press to ...enter SETUP. Press this key as soon as you see the message.

You will a screen where it says BIOS Setup. Use the arrow keys to navigate to it and look for the option that says Boot Sequence or Change Boot Sequence. Each computer differs so I can't tell you the exact appearance of your computer's Bios Setup.
You can find the instructions on how to navigate in Bios by looking at the bottom part of the screen.
Change the boot order from there. Make your main hard drive as number one and the floppy drive in the last. You can see the instructions on how to do that in the screen in BIOS setup.

After changing the order. Save and Exit. It will restart automatically and observe if you still see the issue.

I hope this helps!

On the Boot-up screen I get the message: "Diskette

I think you should press F2 to go to the setup page.

There, you should change the order of your boot device.

set the first boot device to hard disk

set the second boot device to cd rom

and the third to floppy.

follow the instructions and click save and continue

Hi, When I try to start my Dimemsion 5150C in Windows XP computer, I received one of the following error messages "Floppy diskette seek failure Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup...

The "floppy" disk-drive (3.5-inch diskette) on your computer is broken.
Press F1 to ignore the error, and to boot from your C: drive.
Or, press F2 to enter BIOS SETUP, and then navigate through those "setup" screens to tell the computer to "disable floppy seek", or change the setting from "3.5 1.44Mb drive" to "none".
Or, take the computer to a technician, and buy a replacement disk-drive, and get it installed.

Please follow the below stesp:

Enter the setup, and there will be a setting in there somewhere called "Halt On" and if you set that to "No Errors" the computer should boot fine.
This works with Dell computers.

Drive 0 Seek Failure

Do you have a floppy drive on this computer, If so this message means that the drive is bad.
If you want to disable the message or you do not have a floppy drive, do the following:

Go into CMOS setup by hitting F2 key while the unit is booting up, scroll down to disk drives on the page, there you can disable the Floppy drive. Hit ESC and reboot.

Good luck,
Joe

Diskette drive 0 seek failure

Does the PC have a floppy drive? If it doesn't It appears that your BIOS (Basic PC setup) thinks that there is one! I think that pressing f2 on boot will bring you into the BIOS setup.
In there, see can you locate any reference to 3.5 inch floppy and amend it to the setting which suits the config of your PC.

Please take care as to what other settings you change in the BIOS

If you find this sugestion helps please take time to rate it
