Question about Fisher Paykel EcoSmart GWL15

My Ecosmart washer fills with water at the bottom- the hose leaks- when the machine is not on. Could it be that the pressure valve from the wall is not worknig correctly? It seems like all of the shut offs in my house have been leaking recently.

Water leak at bottom of Whirlpool Estate washer. Removed the cabinet. No leaks from the water pump, hoses or inlet valve. The tub leans a little toward the front of the machine. When filling/rinsin

It is common on Whirlpool models for the water to splash out the top when filling especially when sheets or nylon cloth is loaded in the washer. Air fills the cloth and balloons the garment up this caused water to bounce off the garment and splash out the back. This is the most common reason for those mysterious leaks. Lowering the water pressure coming into the washer can help prevent this.

My hotpoint wt540 washer wont fill

Pull off your washer mains cord from the wall. Turn off your wall faucet,, the valve on wall which allows water into the washer. (h2o means your washer is not receiving the most importing thing - water). Disconnect the pipes of the water from the wall. Check by opening the wall valve to see if the water flow is gud. Next fit back carefully. Then unscrew the other end of the hose/hoses at the entry point of your washer - remove the fine filters and clean out with an old tooth brush; clean inside the opening of inlet valve too carefully, check. Now re-fit the filters carefully and screw back the hoses. You are done now. It is advisable to close the wall valve when your washing is done, takes pressure off the machine valve.

I have the Kenmore Oasis Elite Top Loader and I am almost always getting a LF reading on the washer. It never completes a full load. What does LF mean?

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

LF = Long Fill

This is caused by either low water pressure or dirty inlet water valve screens. Turn off the water at the wall connection and remove the water hoses at the washer connection. (NOTE hot and cold installed positions) Use a thin knife blade on the outside of the inlet screens and lift them out of the water valve. Wash them under slow running water by rubbing your fingers on both sides of the screen. Once the screens are clean reinstall them in the inlet water valve. Re-connect the washer fill hoses. Just for grins... check the wall connection of the water hoses to make sure there are not HOSE screens at the wall end of the hoses.

(As a retailer of home laundry equipment we always installed fill hose water screens at the wall connections due to the local water supply having bouts of micro debris.)
You can clean the washer screens but if the installer also added at the wall connection hose screens you may still have the problem of a slow fill. Just check.

If after doing the above and you know you have good water pressure you may have a problem with the inlet water valve itself in that debris has got past the inlet screens and blocked the diaphragm passage. IF this has happened the only fix it to replace then inlet water valve.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

The washer is flashing display LF

LF Error code: LF stands for long fill and occurs when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on.

All washers are designed to operate with a water supply pressure of 20-100 PSI. When the pressure drops below 20 PSI the washer can have the following problems:

* Slow Fill- low water pressure reduces the speed at which water flows into the machine.
o Verify the pressure at all other water sources in the house (i.e. sinks, showers, etc..). If you find other places where the pressure is low, the problem is not with the machine but with the water supply.
* Continuous Fill- The valve may not fully seat under 20 PSI which would allow for a constant flow even when the machine is not supposed to be filling.
o Contact the water company to verify the pressure being supplied to the house.
* dispenser- Needs a minimum amount of pressure to function. May dispense constantly, at the wrong time, or not at all.
o A plumber may need to be consulted if the pressure is found to be too low.

Things you can check :

* Are the Hot and Cold water faucets turned on
* Are the water hoses kinked
o Make sure all the hose are straight and able to flow water
* Are the screen inside the water valve plugged
o Inlet valve should be free of debris and rust.
o Turn off water and remove the inlet hoses from washer.
o Remove any accumulated film or particles.
o Assure rubber washers are in the end of each inlet hose.
o Reinstall hoses, turn on water and check for leaks.

Error codes can be caused by a Power Surge or other electrical anomaly, attempt to return the washer to operation by following the Hard Reset procedure below.

1. Unplug or turn the circuit breaker off for 30 seconds.
2. Reconnect the unit to the power source by turning the breaker back on or plugging the unit back into the wall outlet.
3. Press the Pause/Cancel/Stop button twice to clear the display.
4. Start a short cycle to check the operation of the machine by selecting a cycle and pressing and holding the start button until the machine starts

My GE washer wont stop filling in any cycle. Even if you pull out the plug. Leaks everywhere. I blew into water level switch hose and it clicks. Model number WBXR1060T. Thank you

If water continues to fill and you have unplugged the washer from the wall then your fill valve is stuck open and needs to be replaced. Turning off the water at the wall faucet should stop the water. The fill valve is what the hoses are attached to at the washer.

Go to fill machine water comes out of bottom

You may have a leaky fill hose, or you may have a faulty 'donut' seal, which sits on top of the transmission and is sandwiched between the inner and outer tubs. You could also have leaky inlet hoses, which are attached to the wall water valve and then to the back of the washer. At worst, you may have corrosion on your outer tub that resulted in a hole through it.

Pull your washer out from the wall so you can access the back. Try to see exactly where the leak is coming from. If your leak is from the inlet hoses, which is the most common place, simply shut off the water supply, remove and replace BOTH of the hoses, even if only one is leaking.

If the inlet hoses are okay, remove the back panel of the washer (it's simply attached with screws - easy to remove), start the fill cycle of your washer and watch for where it is leaking. Look for calcium buildups on and around the hoses. These buildups would indicate a leak.

If you find that an internal hose is leaking, remove the spring clamps at each end of the bad hose and obtain a replacement.

ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR MACHINE BEFORE MAKING REPAIRS!!!

Water keeps flowing non-stop with my old Kenmore washer

Check the pressure switch and the pressure switch hose.
Remove the end caps on the console and remove the 2 screws that hold it down. Pull slightly from the bottom of the console and flip it up. On the left side you should see the pressure switch (water level switch) with a few wires and a small hose connected to it. The hose should be connected between the pressure switch and the tub. In most cases the pressure switch hose sometimes falls off over time due to vibration.
Replace the hose if it is damaged. If there are no visible holes or cracks in the hose, try trimming 1/4" off each end of the hose (pressure switch side and tub side) and reconnect them making sure to push hose ends securely onto connections. This is done because the hose sometimes stretches at the connection points and you will lose air pressure inside the switch, therefore the water will never shut off.
Alternatively you can use small clamps on each end.
If this doesn't work, check the function of the pressure switch by attaching a small hose to it and blowing lightly into the pressure switch while the machine is filling. You should hear a click and the inlet water valve should turn off. If it doesn't turn off you may need to replace the pressure switch or if the machine fills even when it's in the off position replace the inlet water valve.
Good luck!

It needs a new fill valve. These are not expensive and you can easily do this yourself.
