Question about Polaroid FLM-3732 Television

Control Box Hi Kvmann77, I receive mine yesterday night, I put it on and works. I was lucky probably. It didn't look new, there was a little dent on a corner, but I tired it anyway. Now everything seams to be working, but before I sent the old one back to them I will wait at least few weeks to see if this new one hold up. Thank you for your help and insight.

Well I received my control box today and no luck. I had it installed and still no picture or sound, but at least now the tv turns on and off....lol. Fired off another email to the rep at Polaroid asking for a new one and will see how it goes.

Hey buyer74,

That's awesome!!! Congratulations on your TV recovery...lol. I would definitely hold onto your old one just to be sure.

I guess Polaroid isn't all that bad. Their customer service just saved you and me $300-$400. I still won't buy another Polaroid though...lol.

Take care and good luck in your TV adventures..

Virgin set top box not changing channels with the t.v turned on we have been advised to put the box at an angle , but this seems a poor of solving this matter

Not quite enough information here, but let's assume that this is a normal infra red remote. If you point the remote directly towards the front of the set top box and this works, then what you have been told is probably correct.
On the front of your set top box is a little window which receives the remote data. Think of your remote as a torch. the beam from it must fall directly on the window. The angle of deviation either side of centre is often as little as 15 degrees. This is to prevent other sources of infra red eg the sun, from interfering with the remote data.

Remote Stopped Working

It is possible the IR sensor is bad. Most of the time if it is a remote issue, the light on the remote will not light up. Does the remote that came with tv still control any functions? I would try the remote that came with the tv, and then go from there, but it sounds like your IR sensor has gone out on you.

My 47lg70 turns itself on and off all night long. It is connected to a HD box from comcast, also has a DVD and stereo receiver connected to it and they are turned off.

There can be several causes for this, few of which you can do anything about. However, a few things to try:

1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?

I hope this helps. Joe

This low audio problem happened to me suddenly yesterday. I powered off over night - no change. I plugged the A/V cables into a second TV - no change. I called Comcast - problem solved.

Olevia TV not receiving remote signal

Which 'universal' remote have you found that listed codes for Olevia??
And, if you have a TV shop in your area at all, they will likely have an IR (infrared) detector made to check remotes for output. The simple ones do not check for coding but will tell you if the remote is putting out any signal at all. Of the two ends, the receiver is typically more reliable than the transmitting end in your remote.

FLM- 3732

Buyer74,

Yes, I did receive the control box from them. However, it was not functional either. I ended up taking my TV and both bad control boxes to a local repair shop. The one Polaroid sent me was the least expensive to repair since it only had a bad power supply. It still cost $189 to fix, but it's better than $400 for the cost of a new control box.

Polaroid has requested that I send them the bad one from my TV. I will not be sending it back to them unless they refund me for the cost of repairing the control box they sent me.

If yours works, then I bid you congratulations. If it doesn't, then have someone check the power supply 1st. You may even try switching the power supply from your old one with the new one and see if it works. Keep me posted.

Thanks
