This solution was the best for my need. I got to fix the soldering and the disassembling and assembling of the headphone was very easy.

I fact I don't think they are not meant to be opened. I opened mine as follows:
1. Remove the black protection. Pull gently aside and you will see a red border come out. 2. Remove the white protection. It is very similar to mounting tape, but less sticky so its quite easy to take off and put back again when finished. 3. Now, with a flat screwdriver separate the black disc assembled to the headphone. This black disc is the one with the three radial rectangles and a radial grid in the center through which you can see the speaker. 4. Your headphone is disassembled. Repair and reassemble.

Forgot to mention that if you manage to take hold of all three rectangles and squeeze the disc a little, the disc should come out in a smoother way now that you would be freeing it from three teeth holding it.

I still found it difficult to remove the disk. Any better ways to suggest?

Those are not to be opened ... however, if you do want to open them, use a line-shaped screwdriver to pop out the external plastic cover. Please note that you may need to use some glue to put them back together.

How to disassemble sony mdr 7506 headphones to replace the earpads

I find that most headphones have to be opened up by going in through the part that fits to your ear. You might have use force to remove the foam covering, with that gone you should see a few screws.

See my tip on dodgy cable/jack on headphones. If the jack is different to the one shown, you should be able to get it from Maplin (UK user) or Radio Shack (USA).

Got no sound from the right earphone of my MDR-v500 headphones

It's actually quite easy to open up ... the pad just slips off, and its really easy to get back on and there is a set of three small t screws underneath that just need unscrewing and then you're inside
