Question about Canon PIXMA iP4200 InkJet Photo Printer

Settings for newer types of paper

Hi, I was thinking of purchasing Canon's new "Fine Art Premium Matte" paper FA-PM1 but my old Canon Pixma iP4200 printer driver does not know anything about this type of paper. What settings should I use, or is there a new printer driver available for this model that recognises the new paper?

Thanks JongCur, I have an option for "Matte Photo Paper" but was hoping there would be a newer driver that had a specific option for "Fine Art Premium Matte" that fine-tuned the printing specifically for that paper, because the current printer driver already makes a distinction between three different types/qualities of glossy paper.

Matte Papers are a bit thicker and heavier, in the printer properties, try to select from the choices for paper types that are more related kind of paper, like matte photo paper, to "Fine Art Premium matte".

Are you using Canon inks and papers?
If not go to the manufactures website and see what settings should be used. Most photo paper from other companies recommend using the matte paper or hi-resolution paper setting.

Error number 6A00 for Canon Pixma IP4200 Blinking Power and resume light.

Hi
Error 6A00
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Solution 1:
Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times.

Solution 2:
Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

Solution 3:
Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Canon iP4200 thinks it has two yellow ink catridges installed

I have had this happen a couple of times to me with a few cartridges so if you can be sure it's just the black that has changed then I'd contact your retailer and request a replacement under warranty.

The only other way to solve this is by process of elimination using some other cartridges. If you know of someone else with a similar printer model that uses the same cartridges then perhaps ask nicely :)
