What causes the exhaust hose to get hot on a windchaser portable AC

make sure its not obstructed, then wrap it up with a towel or other insulative material. it heats up because the heat exhausts through that hose out the window.

I have a PACRWC-HP. We only use it for short periods during Seattle summers. Now in it's third year, it does not evaporate the water filling the small overload every hour. Can it be fixed or should...

Jerry, Windchaser has been out of business for about 5 or 6 months. So, if it requires parts to fix the problem, it will difficult to find them. But, before you properly scrap the unit, check several of the things, that may be causing the problem.

1. The air intake filter may be dirty or clogged. Remove and clean thoroughly, if necessary.

2. The exhaust hose may be drooping from the unit to the window outlet. This allows condensation
to accumulate in the hose, rather than exhaust out the window.

3. Obstruction in exhaust hose will cause the same thing as in # 2. Remove the hose check & clear
any obstructions, as necessary.

I hope this has helped you troubleshoot, find and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Do i have to vent this ac pacr10 wind chaser

Yes, it definitely requires venting via an exhaust hose(s) (flexible duct) connected to a window converter.

A friend gave me it i know you have to catch water but does this need to be exausted and how and where

You will need the exhaust hose(s) & hose clamps and a window conversion kit for the hose(s). The unit has it's own water collection bucket, that will alert you when it's full and needs to be drained. It cannot have a continual drain as some water is required to keep the coils cool.

The biggest thing is where to get the parts? I say "biggest", as Windchaser is out of business. There phones have been disconnected and their website no longer exist. However, there is a company that may can help you, as some parts are interchangeable. Call Factory Appliance Parts .1-800-955-7075 and explain your circumstance and if there are interchangeable parts they are the folks to help you.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Unit shuts off, getting an E5 error. sounds like there is a lot of water inside. the customer service numbers for Windchaser are disconnected. PLEASE HELP!!!!

E5 is the fault code for Compressor overheat/malfunction it coulb be caused by the exhaust hose being too long or kinked, remove the exhaust hose and run the unit for an hour and see if your problem goes away, if so re-route the exhaust hose, if not you need to contact the manufacture

I need a connector for the exhaust port for the WINDCHASER PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER PACR93S is there anything I can buy at the hardware stores that can replace those parts easily

I used a Plastic plumbing fitting, attached to the ac unit with a small metal braket. Sealed it wth thick foil tape. Sadly the company is out of business and the original flange connectors are unavailable.

We have a 9000 btu portable frigidare air conditioner, we are constantly having to manually drain the bucket even with drain pump hose attatched. Is it possible tat the drain pump is broken? Occasionally...

Wow maybe you have a lot of moisture in the air.
It is a strong posibility the pump has trash in it. periodically clean out the pump for best results.
I realy have never even seen a 9000 btu portable ac or worked on one. Just guessing.

Exhaust fan running slow

sounds like the compressor is turning off cause of high pressure. check the coil that the exhaust hose connects to, if dirty clean it. if the fan is not blowing enough air threw the coil the unit will build up high side pressure and cut out, but will turn back on when pressure drops. if that dont help, maybe the fan motor is bad or needs taken apart and oiled.
