Is this the reset button on the motor or on the pressure switch?

What is the make and model of your compressor? I can think of two compressors that have weak motor reset buttons.

If your unit takes oil check the amount of oil in the compressor.

One more question, If you leave air in the tank overnight does it lose pressure?

  • landacrek Sep 02, 2010

It is a Task Force. It does not take oil and it has always lost pressure when air was left in it.

SOURCE: Unit will not blow cold air after starting up for first time this season

you may need to remove the rear cover to examine what is and is not running. once you remove the back, start up the unit on a workbench. see if the fan is running and the compressor has kicked in. look at the larger or two tubes coming out of the compressor. if it is cooling a small layer of frost or condensation will appear on this " suction" line. if this tubing and the other one are approx the same temperature, then there is a freon leak in the system. Only an EPA certified technician can fill your unit. I am not familiar with that RED button but it mat be a reset of some sort. With the back removed see how it is connected in the wiring circuit. if you have the wiring diagram, please send it to me under my regular email address and I'll walk you through the troubleshooting procedure.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic PV-GS14 and it ALWAYS says 'Push Reset Button'

I had the same problem. In desperation, I picked up my trusty can of compressed air and aimed a few shots into the recorder/playback mechanism. Worked like charm.

the wire line should supply the the compressor,
open the service valve of compressor, switch on
observe if compressor run and develop pressure or air is coming out to nozzle,if that so switch off again and replace pressur switch.you have defective pressure switch, regards rate me,thanks

Not exactly.
The compressor can run until it begins to freeze up depending on the system, or until pressure readings get too high or too low.
Most cars today are designed to run the compressor as long as the switch is engaged and just add hot air from the heater to adjust cabin temp. There is a sensor in the evap to prevent the system from freezing up.
As long as it is warm outside and the system is not freezing up then yes the compressor will run constantly.

The compressor will not kick on i took the cover off and the compressor is hot will it reset it self or is there a reset button on it somewhere it was running fine just 1 hour ago any suggestions

it has an overload on the compressor that has kicked the compressor out and will not let it start back up,,,let it cool for a bit then try again it will reset it's self,,,,, make sure that both sets of coils on this unit are clean....you see the condensor coils when your on the roof with the cover off... check the inside evaporator coils as well..... let me know what you find out......

Outside fan not running, inside unit running fine. Compressor was running this morning, but no longer. Replaced fan motor, turned power back on, now fan or compressor not running. What else can be checked?

Hi,
There may be a manual reset high limit... look for a red button on a round part hooked to the small copper line and push it in hard...
Also the compressor may have kicked the overload and needs a few hours to cool and it reset, that is interanl insdie the compressor.
Contactor may also have went bad...

Compressor appears to kick in, runs for short time

It sounds like your unit may have a bad run capacitor or start capacitor and relay. Low voltage will also cause this problem. First you need to make sure that you have the full rated voltages at the unit, if you do, then, have the run and start capacitors checked out and the start relay.

one of two things, either you have a bad start capacitor on the motor or a defective start switch inside the motor, either one can be checked at a electric motor shop

The air conditioning takes to long to come on. where is the reset button?

Hi,

usually a new aircon in its start up stage takes about 2 - 4 minutes before it runs, and then the compressor kicks and all is normal. after a few weeks the system will start normally. there are no reset button but the power button.

I hope this helps.

IR T 20 air compressor will not kick on

IS IT THREE PHASE OR SINGLE PHASE? MOTOR TAG WILL SAY PH 1 OR PH 3.DOUBLE BREAKER OR TRIPLE BREAKER WILL ALSO TELL. IS THIS A BRAND NEW INSTALL OR AN EXISTING COMPRESSOR THAT JUST NOW STARTED DOING THIS. SOUNDS LIKE A POWER PROBLEM LIKE A MISSING PHASE OR BLOWN FUSE. REMOVE FUSES WHEN OHM CHECKING - DONT TEST THEM WHILE STILL INSTALLED.
