Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful.

Regards
Andrea

Hi, I think your SD card set in lock mode . SD cards have a slide switch along one edge.Always lock position nearest the connecting wire (copper wire)in the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fullythe other way and then back again.

The camera switches itself off in photoshot mode,

Most camera have a standby mode to them, if they are on long enough they will shut off, to save your battery. In the menu somewhere there should be a option to turn that off or make it longer,

Mode switch has broken off and the camera screen says no image

it probably remained locked on the viewer and there are no images capture stored into the camera ..that's why it says that ....and it must be a way to restore the function of that button cause no matter if you lock it permanently into the the shooting mode its still a issue of getting pics out of it ....most cameras have to be on viewing mode when are plugged on the data cable ...but ..if you can open it and switch it on the mode that allow you to take pictures...you can always get the pictures from the SD card directly via an card reader ...adapter ( USB) that cost only a few dollars...

HP Digital Camera - M425 - Stuck in review mode, won't switch to capture mode

I just fixed my daughters camera with this problem. First go to the capture mode and see if the reason you are in review mode is because the camera thinks it is docked. If so, look at the dock port on the bottom of the camera. ( May need to magnify it to see in there ) Look for any green corrosion between the contacts. Her's has this corossion between two pairs of the contacts. I took a jewelers screw driver and scraped out the corrosion and then blew canned air in there to remove it. Turned it on and now it works fine. I have a feeling that the battery compartment is venting through this port and the small amount of acid vapor produced as the batteries discharge is causing the contacts to get this corrosion.

Can my camcorder work with imovie and if so how do i get my computer to get download my video?

Open iMovie and set it to capture DV. (Click the camera shaped icon opposed to the siscor scissor shape) When you see a blue screen that says (camera connected) and the image pops on screen of image from tape on camcorder set in play mode, you hit the import button and it begins to capture digital movie using DV compression of whatever you have on tape. You should be able to control your camcorder with the video controllers underneath the project window to make selections for the in and outpunts on the tape you wish to capture. Then switch to edit mode by clicking on the scissor button and import the movies you just captured or use them from the clips menu, etc. renedr movie back to tape, if you wish by clicking back and forth from edit mode (scissors) and capture mode (camera silo) and render to and from tape.

I am having problems with my PixLab software. What should I do?

Common PixLab Problems and Solutions The software will not start up. • Is the software correctly installed? See the section on “installing and uninstalling software” and ensure that the software is installed correctly. The connection is not stable. Are you running software that frequently issues interrupts at the same time? • If you are running software such as Internet browsers and E-mail programs at the same time as the PixLab TWAIN, you should quit those programs before you start up PixLab TWAIN. If your PC is connected to a LAN or a special in-house network, communication faults may arise due to forced interrupts. Are any power-saving measure settings active? • On some PC models, communications can be interrupted when the PC’s power saving (power management or “Sleep” mode) measures cut in. Refer To the Owner’s Manual for your PC and switch off any power-saving functions before you start up PixLab TWAIN. Are you running utilities such as a battery monitor at the same time? • If your PC has a resident battery monitor program, delete the monitor program before you start up PixLab TWAIN. Try using a lower connection speed. • Select “ Communication Settings” in the “Option” menu and set the connection speed in the dialog box to “9600”. If the connection is stable at that speed, gradually increase the speed until you find the fastest speed at which the connection is stable. The PC and the camcorder will not communicate at all. 1 Is the camcorder and PC correctly connected? • Check that none of the cables are disconnected and that all the components are switched. Is the correct communications port selected? • Check “Serial and COM Port Settings” to make sure that they are correct. A Communication Error dialog box appears. (1) Without changing the settings, try to reconnect by clicking on the Retry. (2) If repeated attempts to connect are unsuccessful, click on the Settings and try changing the communications settings. • Change the “Serial Port” setting to another COM port and try connecting again. If you try all the COM ports without success, the serial connection may be assigned to a COM port. • Lower the “Connection Speed” setting and try again. Begin at “9600” and work upwards from there to find the fastest speed at which the connection is stable. images can not be captured. If the” PixLab cannot currently transfer images from the camera” message appears and images cannot be captured, check the items listed below. If any of these conditions apply to the camcorder, images cannot be captured. Camera Mode • The Digital Zoom is being used. (The Digital Zoom icon [ D] is displayed on the LCD panel. • The SEPIA or MOSAIC Picture Effect is set to “ON”. • The camcorder is recording. • Edit Search is in progress. VCR Mode • The camera is set to “Stop”, “Fast Forward” or “Rewind”. 2 • Playback Zoom is being used. • The SEPIA or MOSAIC Picture Effect is set to “ON”. • The camcorder is in Audio Dubbing mode.
