Re: hi please help me
The set is in childlock mode, and will need to be deactivated. Try pressing the + key in the right bottom corner of the remote for at least 5 seconds. See how you go, and please post me back if it didnt work and I will keep looking for a solution for you.

Somehow in handling the remote control I pushed a button or combination of buttons and now have a blue screen with a lock symbol in red in the top left hand corner. I've tried turning the tv off, and unplugging it, as well as a combination of buttons on the remote, but it still is there. What do I need to do to remove the lock?
on the bottom right hand of the remote there is a square with a plus in it, on the instruction book ( which my mum found, god bless her cotton socks) it says hold it down for 4 seconds, just hold it till the picture comes back, hope this helps, i had the same problem this morning.
It sounds to me like a child lock function, which is usually what the screen + padlock is on TVs. Usually your original remote would have a button / sequence to unlock the mode. If you still have your original remote, look for a child lock button or refer to your remote manual (and/or TV manual for the child lock feature) to unlock the mode.
