Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

Very mysterious picture problem

Everything starts up normally but i will list the following problems i have with the picture quality on my ps3
1. when i play music, the earth and other scene are covered by this green to red to yellow picture, i can barely see the scene
2. when i view pictures there are red and green dotted lines scattered horizonally acroos the picture, when u zoom in sometimes they dissappear for a few seconds
3. when i view saved video clips there are red and green horizonal lines that flash across the screen, mainly on the edges. the same thing happens with movies of all types.
4. when i play Warhak the tanks, warhawks, characters will usually be neon green or a bright burgundy color and super white. the ground has sporadic black dotted lines.
5. when i use the internet browser sometimes it shows a normal picture. if it doesnt i can exit the browser and enter again and repeat until i get a clear picture, but it only lasts about ten minutes. if i zoom in on the dots they seem to be a tiny square divided in 4 different shades of the dot all moving and changing different shades
6 when i play the new gta i have to walk through wierd polygonal shapes that appear and disappear depending on which way i have the character facing, but they are always in sight in the distance. they are not solid masses unless they are what the game has put there. i can walk and shoot through them.

i have replaced all the cables and have performed two sytsem resets and no fix. i even went as far as buying a 1080p lcd tv and tried the hdmi cables and resulted in the same problem.a computer tech friend of mine said it could be a bad video card or a virus. do u think u could figure out the problem? please help me with this problem

thanx guys

Hello,

I figure out your problems! Maybe you use a very low pixel video card on your computer. or maybe your need a correct driver of your video card. if your video card is built in to the board you should inhstall the CD utilities enclosed to your computer from the vendor. if it is an add -on video card you need also to install the video card driver in it. if you install it before and ex[perience an error. maybe you need to uninstall the driver and reinstall it again. There is no virus cause in this problems only the video card and driver of the hardwares.

may this help,

I'm sorry to say pedro but your computer friends first instinct was correct this is a faulty videocard and or drivers.
how long ago did you purchase your PS3?

You said you did 2 resets but Have you reset the PS3 to Factory settings? If you did factory reset it did you test the same problem before uploading your backups onto the PS3?

If not do a system backup

This is how to do a Factory Reset on PS3

1. Power Off the PS3 in back and power back on
2. Hold power button on the front till you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the setup and then run a Full Format from System -> Format. You may need to have your AV cables if your using HDMI (in case its not detected after reset)
4. Test the same problem with the same game
5. If still doing problem restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset
6. Contact sony cause you need a repair.

Nope, this is a hardware problem and the camera needs to be worked on. Notice how your display works fine but the finished product exhibits the anomaly. The recording end is messed up.

I need a projection lamp on a rear projector Sony TV model # KV-13FM13

Hi HG Allen,
Search Amazon or Google with your model name and the word Lamp replacement. You will find some lamps listed as "OE" which means it fits like original equipment (lamp) but it's an aftermarket lamp and is cheaper in price and quality. These lamps most of the time do not last beyond 3 months and the light output is weak so you picture is noticeably dimmer.
If you find an "OEM" listing and it says "Philips" or "Osram" then those are the quality lamps that are quality made and will last and your tv picture will be brighter like it was new again.. I hope this helps you.

I just need to adjust the resolution on this TV. NO ONE at RCA could seem to help me. Thank you.

hi,
did u mean to adjust the picture setting then go for the following
1 press menu on the remote
2. using down arrow select picture quality and press ok. available options in picture quality and its use is listed below. you can use it according to your preference.

Basic Picture Control- Displays the five slider controls for adjusting

the way the picture looks.

Contrast Adjusts the difference between the light and dark areas

of the picture.

Color Adjusts- the richness of the color

Tint Adjusts the balance between the red and green levels

Black Level Adjusts the brightness of the picture

.

Sharpness Adjusts the crispness of edges in the picture.

When exiting this menu, the Save Personal Picture Preset choice list will

appear. You can choose either Yes or No. If you save the settings as a

Personal Picture Preset, the TV will store the settings so you can reselect

them easily if someone changes the settings.

Picture Presets Displays- a choice list that lets you select one of three

preset picture settings: Bright Lighting, Normal Lighting, Soft Lighting

or Personal Picture Preset. Choose the setting that is best for your

viewing environment.

Auto Color Displays- a choice list that lets you turn on the feature that

automatically corrects the color of the picture. (This is especially useful

for tracking realistic flesh tone colors as you switch from channel to

channel.) Choose On or Off, depending on your preference.

Color Warmth Displays- a choice list that lets you set one of three

automatic color adjustments: Cool for a more blue palette of picture

colors; Normal; and Warm for a more red palette of picture colors. The

warm setting corresponds to the National Television Standards

Committee (NTSC) standard of 6500?K.

Video Noise Reduction Displays- a choice list that lets you turn on the

feature that automatically reduces noise from the picture. Audiovariable

enables the TV to automatically adjust noise reduction level;

off turns off noise reduction feature; on-fixed sets a fixed level of noise

reduction.

Picture quality for gaming

Match the PS3's output resolution to your TVs (in this case 720p).
Don't sit too close, otherwise you'll start to see individual pixels.
Make sure the HDMI cable is good quality.
As for picture settings, they will very so much according to the viewing conditions that i cannot give you settings that are gauranteed to work for you. But sharpness should always be 0 when dealing with HD content.
If you want to really get the best picture from your TV, try using a THX disc to calibrate it. Luckily these are normally included on Disney PIXAR DVDs, so go find yourself a copy of CARS or something. Follow the instructions of the THX setup, and you should have youself a sweet looking picture in no time.

Hope this Helps.

Picture Quality Iphone

This is normal. Most pictures you see on websites are small representations. Try going to a wallpaper or background website, click on larger pictures and zoom in then.
As for Youtube, this is normal to have ratty quality videos. this is also dependent on your bandwidth, so it may drop in quality in a low reception area, but wifi should be pretty decent, just still typical YouTube quality.

Blurred picture

Hitachi > 53FDX20B blurry picture

I would start 1st by checking all resistors ie.
RK43 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK47 1.5 ohm - 2W
RK51 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK55 1.5 ohm - 2W
RK59 2.2 ohm - 2W
RK63 1.5 ohm - 2W
If I were you I would also replace the convergence chips. From the above thread it's clear that they are of different quality so they may last different lengths of time (B&D is a good place to buy good quality ones).
I found a free pdf service manual for 53FDX20B on a Polish web site: http://instrukcje.elektroda.net/main1750.html
other models try here: http://www.webtronix.ca/hitachi/index.htm

Download pictures from my repair (Password: delirious).
