Oh, yes, thanks for the fixya ratings, much obliged.

The reason Kaspersky is giving those warnings, is because it regards the online scan as another malicious software. Disable Kaspersky for a while, and run the scan. Dont worry about the warning messages you get just continue with the scan and cleaning.

Restart the PC, go back to the online scan, let it finish. It may take some time for the scan to finish, but let it run.

And oh yes, I suggest AVAST! anti-virus to KAspersky, much more reliable, and free.

Good luck!

My Compaq Presario S4000V with Intel cpu contantly locks up and freezes causing me to have to shot the whole computer off and then back on. Help

Please immediately do the following:

Update your virus control and do a scan

Use your registry cleaner program if you have one

Use your spyware program if you have one

Go to toolbar>tools>internet options>general tab> and delete all of your cookies

go to Start>All programs>Accessories>system tools>clean disc and do it

If you do not have spyware program, go to www.tucows.com and type in shareware spyware program and download a free or share program and run it. The most likely cause of your problem is spyware.

In the lower right corner of your screen do you have alot of little icons? These indicate proggys running in the background and they can slow you down considerably. Please tell me what you have and I will tell yo how we can get rid of them so that they don;t run until you want to use them.

also check your desktop for icons you don;t ever use. you can right click on them and delete them. This does not delete the program.

When all this is done, restart your computer and lets see what you have now.

SPYWARE ON COMPUTER

Hello there.

I would first try scanning the computer your self. Please click here to start a free online web-based scan of your system, this looks for virus, trojan, spyware infections so should hopefully clean your system. Once the scan completes it should prompt you to remove anything found.

If this doesn't help then yes take the system back to where you purchased it for support. Make sure you backup your files first.

Hope this helps.

Ads keep popping up when am online and offline, I have warning tabs saying that I have been infected with spyware. I am on verizon fios network and have virus scan and spyware removal tools that I used,...

Hello there.

Virus and spyware problems are very popular unfortunately, most tools are unable to find and repair all problems, so its best to try alternative methods to remove the most stubbern infections.

I suggest using an online scanner, something like http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/housecall . Open this address and click "Launch Housecall free scan". This will download the files needed through your web browser and run a scan without actually installing the antivirus package in windows. It wont interfere with existing antivirus / antispyware software.

If you cannot remove all infections, then please show us a screenshot or a list of the infections from the scan end page and we will assist.

Hope this helps.
