M70 speaker

8 Ohm refers to the nominal impedance of the whole speaker. How would you 'use' 4 or 6 Ohm? Any modern amp should be able to handle 8 Ohm. The M70 have relatively low sensitivity, and require more output-power for high sound-volume.

What is the actual watts per channel @ 8-ohms and 4-ohms on the Behringer PMP3000?

Those specs would be right - I have this same board but the amp was fried by a previous owner. I pulled the amp board out and tossed it and use the mixer now to drive an external amp. Great board. This amp is rated at 1200W "peak", bridged into an 8ohm load. That would equate to about 900W RMS bridged into 8ohm or 450 per side into 4ohm loads per side. You can't daisy chain all 4 speakers....impedance would be too low. You can run two of your 8ohm speakers per side - that results in a 4ohm load per side for the amp. That would give you amp delivery of 450W per side. Your speakers are rated to handle more than that so you're fine. For the record.....you could run one speaker per side no problem....just lower power output.

What ohm selection and which input do i use on peavey valveking head/ca

that depends on your cabinet(s). if you have an 8 ohm cabinet you want to use your 8 ohm out. if its a 16 ohm cabinet you want the 16 ohm out.. etc.. etc. etc.. owners manuals will tell you these specs

I am trying to find specs on the speakers that originally came with the RTD258 Systems Ohms? etc

Here is the RCA RTD258 spec sheet: http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/RTD258%20.pdf . I found the link at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3142374&CatId=4585 . The manual is also available: http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/RTD258_UMEN.pdf .

The original speakers were all two-way, 8 Ohms, except for the sub-woofer which is one-way 8 Ohms. The amplifier gave 167 watts to each speaker.

Does this help?

What size fuse do i need to use for my speaker protection kit

This will be based on the 501 model as you did not give a model Also I am assuming speakers are 8 ohms which I have no firm information for the Tannoy, but they should be marked when you open the unit. We are allowed 40 watt RMS for the woofer and 20 watts RMS according to the specs. They do not tell us what impedance the speakers are so we will do calculations based on 8 ohm speakers... if yours are different, then recalculate; P = I^2 * R so for 40 watts and 8 ohms then I squared = 5 or the current is about 2.3 amps max... You COULD use a 2.5 amp fuse, but if they were my speakers I would use a 2 amp fast blow which gives a bit of margin for the woofer. Now for the Tweeter we have I squared is 20/8 so this comes out I squared equals 2.5 or taking the square root we have 1.58... you could use a 1.75 amp, but if they were mine, I would use either a 1.5 amp or even a 1 amp as the tweeters seem to get blown in these. ALL of these calcs are based on the specs of power for the 501 model and ASSUME 8 ohm speakers... Recalculate if your units have different impedance thaan the assumed 8 ohms.

Power out rms- 4 o 8 homs?

I can see why you're asking for help on this. It almost seem this unit has been 'disappeared' as far as online information is concerned. Even Sony has nothing on it.

I founs some articles and For Sale posts:

http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-electronics-Sony-STR-4800SD-Stereo-Receiver-135-OBO-W0QQAdIdZ243602516
"Sony's STR-4800SD receiver was extensively, and positively, reviewed in Stereo magazine's Fall '77 issue. In their introduction, they found the 4800SD bettered its published f.m. sensitivity specs "by a wide margin...it has exceptionally smooth frequency response, very low distortion(especially in the midband), and excellent quieting. No exotic claims are made for the power amp section, either (35 watts/channel,15.4 dBw at 0.2% THD). But our tests indicate much more capability than that, and a distortion of only one-tenth that spec."

The power consumption figure shown in a photo below says "145W", which would be consistent with a 35 watt amplifier.

What is the maximum speaker wattage for a NAD c340 integrated amplifier?

The specs say 2x50W into 8 ohms. I could not located the 4 ohm specs, but it is logical to assume that you can run 2x100W into 4 ohms.

The back panel seems to imply that 4 ohms is a limit for speakers.

So any speaker over 100W capability should be fine, either 4 ohms or 8 ohms.

Bose speaker 151

Hi

I checked in the specs of the manual here. page 6. They quote it as being suitable for 4-8 ohm AMPLIFIERS. but do not mention the actual impedance. I would expect from that that the speakers must be close to 8 ohms, as you they would not advise you to connect a 4 ohm speaker to an 8 ohm output stage, as likely damage could result. If you had a multi meter, you could do a DC resistance check of the speaker, this is generally very close to the impedance. happy to talk to you more about it.
