SOURCE: Walbro Carburetor on Briggs & Stratton Model 28R707

If the float don't float, the needle valve stays open and gas runs into crankcase.

If float floats (has no gas inside) then the needlel is probably worn and needs replacement.

SOURCE: I have a 42' poulan riding mower w/ a 14.5 B&S engine, it has a Walbro carb...needing to replace the carb thats on it, I found that the Engine offered two different manufacturers of carbs?

i think walbro is a better carb. nikki is ok but just dont like them. it should be ok. why dont you just put a rebuild kit in the one you have? that is only $10.00 or $12.00

Testimonial: "when originally checking the carb...in haste?....I stripped-out the top of the nozzle-jet along w/ the threads where it screws up into? Costly mistake! I've tried buying a new jet only to find out the threads it screws into where too *******-up for it to set properly? I know....what a dummy! thanks though?"

What is the carb model # for zr05870, Its a Walbro carb?

From the pictures in the parts breakdown, this appears to be one of the newer model rotary-type carburetors. It is listed as part number 308028001. There is no mention of this machine in the Walbro carburetor application guide however. After viewing the picture and with the prefix of the carburetor known, you should be able to locate it on the Walbro website. I have the link to your machine's parts breakdown and to the Different Walbro models. Please view:

Need A parts diagram for a Sthil G65 Blower carb.

Unfortunately, Stihl won't release any of their illustrated parts diagrams to anyone except Stihl dealers. The dealers won't release them either. It is possible that the manufacturer of the carb will have a breakdown listed on their site. Stihl primarily uses either zama carbs (www.zamacarb.com) or Walbro carbs (www.walbro.com). Look on the carb for engraved numbers and letters to let you know what series and model to search on. The manufacturer is usually listed either on the bottom diaphragm plate or up on top. Walbro series usually start with a WT, or WA. Zama will usually have a C series (ex. C1U)

Good luck!

Parts number

You need to know if it is a walbro or a zama carb. to start with.
then look closely at the carb. and find #`s
very small

walbro will be wt or wa then some #`s
zama will be c1q or c1u and some #`s on the opposite side of carb.
Walbro will be on the same side

you need to know the carb. #`s so a kit can be found for that particular carb. IE: complete kit or diaphram kit
