Question about GE Bluetooth In-ear Headset Wireless Headset

I have recently purchased a GE Bluetooth Telephone Adaptor Model 21518. I have recently given up my ATT Landline phone service and they gave me a new number for ATT DSL ONLINE ONLY Service. I purchased a Verizon Bluetooth Accolade Cell Phone and am using my old home phone number on it. I was hoping to pair my Verizon cell phone with my now unused landline phones in order to use the old phones at home. I followed the instructions but the Verizon Accolade phone never asked me to enter the default PIN 0000, but the adaptor blue light came on and the Verizon phone both indicated the two systems were paired. However,I am unable to call out or receive calls on my landline phones although I get a dial tone. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts? I have to use phone jack filters at each phone jack in order to get on line using my ATT DSL; could this blocking the pairing?

    I tried disconnecting all of the phone jack filters and using the phone jacks unfiltered, but the pairing with my cell phone still failed which makes me wonder if I were to stop the DSL, I still wouldn't be able to pair my Verizon Cell Phone to my unused landline phones. What do you think and what shall I do. If I conntactt ATT about this, I don't even know what to ask them.

Hi, well it simply MUST, exchange passcodes, for it to work, this is indeed the "Reason" you cannot, make or receive any calls, the land Line Phones MUST be connected directly to the Line, the "Filter" allows the DSL to work, it doesn't Stop, nor Allow, the phone to work.
When you connect up to the Version phone, first you must pair the Phone with the Headset, then pair with the Phone, with the Bluetooth on the 21518. It is the Phone you need to pair NOT the actual headset?
I couldn't find in the documentation, any mention of a BT headset and BT phone, that would also mean the there has to be two BT transceivers IN the Version phone too. While this is usual, I guess you had better check?
As I say, see if you can use the BT'ed Version with OUT the BT headset first, then, after you establish a good connection, that way, then try to "Add" the BT headset to the phone, again you will need a passcode.
However if you phone ONLY has ONE BT transceiver, then maybe you can only do ONE BT connection, either BT headset, OR BT connect to the device?
The 21518 should "Ask" the Version, for a passcode, & vice versa... once that is done, enter in the passcode from the Phone then connect the BT headset and then Pair them... then, see if that works.

Hi,

You thought it correct. The splitter or the jack filter at the phone jack is blocking the pair. Normal pairing does not have any settings with Phone jack filters.

Please check with AT&T if they have some settings available.

Can't forward from my vtech to my att cell no matter what I'd do


Call forwarding is NOT a function or feature of the VTech 6041
cordless phones.

It is offered by some telephone service providers, but their
procedures are proprietary and specific to that individual
telephone (service) company -- if they offer it at all.

I see the same thing and it appears that this is the way it works. Without the landline you will get the beeps but can still make and recv calls. After the beeps, dial #1#phone-number#, and it will call that number. Guess that is what they mean when say works without landline.

I have a GE 21518 Bluetooth Telephone adapter. If


Caller ID is only sent to devices plugged directly into the "PHONE" jack on the back of the 21518. I'm guessing your TV DVR or Cable Box is connected directly to the real phone line. Maybe you need an RJ-11 splitter so you can plug both your phone AND the cable box in to the "PHONE" output of the 21518. I appologize if you've already tried this.

GE 21518 Celluar Gateway won't allow use of touch tone menus.


This is the "nature of the beast" with this unit. I have found the same issue. It seems to vary based on which cell phone you use it with. The Moto Droid I had briefly seemed to allow the DTMF tones to work pretty well. Otherwise, this is a great product. You'll just have to grab the actual phone to enter the tones. :(

Cannot pair a7010 with Plantronics Voyager 520


The actual problem was Plantronics, I was not turning on pairing mode. I was confused with quick pair which starts not immediately after turning on, but you need to hold the button longer until led will start blinking blue and red.

I have been told I need the phone line into my home I recently purchased rewired. I am wondering about going wireless but need the service ATT offers where they will forward the old phone numbers to ring...

Yes, it can be forwarded with new digital service or the older landline technology. Purchased phone w/out any instructions how to manually input telephone #'s to memory


I use a ATT calling card I put the 1-800 number and stored it in A then stored the pin# in B it will go throught ,so try to dial it in

it still will work . But the same works on our phones.Could it be dialing in an Area code?

There is an undocumented solution to link difficult devices. Instead of pushing ad releasing, hold either button down until you get a FAST BLINK and then try linking again.
