Disable SATA in BIOS, well but there is no option in Bios to disable or enable SATA. Lately HP DV2000 comes with bios without this option

(DV2000 - DV2680ee, I lost a lot of money and time with this model)

Plz anybody has any other clue..

Ok for all u that are in desparate need of a real fix for this issue. The ones Iam talking to are the ones with the older bios that does not have a SATA off option......U dont need to turn SATA off all u need to do is slipstream the SATA controller into ur retail or factory installation disc. Very easy it takes about 1/2 hour out of ur day. I have included these 2 Utube video's to make ur day easier. Make sure u do exactly as this guys says when he says PUT A CHECK IN THE MASS STORAGE BOX. This is where your HP SATA drivers are. These videos should be in order to the steps u need to do. I have done this and it worked perfect for my DV2000 so Iam not posting something I havent tested myself.

Sorry after looking at it again there is 1 step u need do b4 the 1st video. He talks about the Nlite folder he created which he talks about in the second video so go download the latest version of Nlite "freeware" Have ur factory XP CD in the cdrom and look at the 2nd video u need to just have ur CD image in a folder in ur C drive and Nlite will do that 4 u too. I forgot he got out of step because I had used Nlite b4 so already knew what he was talking about.
