I have the Bosch Next 500 series and I hate it. I am trying to clean off the mold growing on the 'roof' of the detergent basket. I am using a dental tool and q tips but I can't reach some of it.

Hello. Welcome to a "nature of the beast" situation with cleaning your washer. These washers are a lot more user intensive than the older ones. I'm a tech and tell all my customers to build a CLEANING KIT consisting of the following:
2-gallon bucket
2 old toothbrushes
1 kitchen or bathroom scrub brush(on the medium/small side)
3 old wash cloths
3 pairs of comfortable rubber(Playtex) gloves
1 gallon of household bleach
Procedure: Put on gloves(always)
MIX 1 cup bleach to 1 gallon of warm/hot water
Clean the dispenser areas with the toothbrushes dipped in the water/bleach solution(be careful to *not* get bleach on any metal surfaces, use the scrub brush also. Try to flush the areas with clean water or wipe/flush with a wash cloth and clean water.
Dunk a wash cloth or 2 in the water/bleach solution, squeeze out enough water so that the cloth is very wet but *not* dripping, carefully place the cloths in the fold of the bellow and wipe around and around, repeating the dunking and squeezing as often as needed. DON'T BE ROUGH, DO NOT USE DENTAL TOOLS ANYWHERE NEAR THE BELLOW--if you puncture it, it will leak and have to be replaced. You can use a toothbrush or scrub brush as long as you are gentle with the scrubbing. Take your time and try to remove as much of the mold as possible.
Run a washer cleaner through the unit at least once per month. For heavy mold build-up you will have to use several boxes of cleaner once a week for 3 weeks. After each cleaning cycle(no spin needed), run the washer on HOT WATER, heavy duty, bulky, etc WITH NOTHING IN IT), then, for run #3, only wash whites--this will ensure that anything with cleaner in it has been flushed out the washer. I hope I helped you!

Hi, my GE Spacemaker WSLP1100D0WW Top Load Washer is leaking from the bottom during the drain/spin .. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks

I've just had this same problem and successfully fixed such problem. I had to set the washer on blocks and crawl underneath while the wife was turning the washer on spin cycle for a few seconds. After following the leak I discovered the drain pump assembly was cracked. Some epoxy and a day of curing / drying cut the leak out like a charm. I also went ahead and ordered a new drain motor while I was at it and installed.Good luck!Davejr021@yahoo. Com

Why does my washer leave spotes all over my cloths

I am going to go on a limb here , because my front load was just fixed this week. With front load washers 'more is better' on detergent. If you have normal city water; you should only use 1-2 Table spoons of soap. YES! Modern HE detergent is designed NOT to foam. So, if you see bubbles - you have to much soap. Do your cloths smell if you leave them in the washer? Again, that's the soap breaking down. Towels smell after you use them? Too much soap.
Also, make sure your washer is level (there are 4 adjustable feet) under a washer, that can be turned to adjust the washer. This helps it to drain properly.

Lastly, too much soap... when it gets to the pump (that takes the water out of the machine) will whip it around like butter; and dirt, and just can get stuck in that butter until the next load; and probably, that is what is re depositing onto your clothing. Finally, try powder vs liquid detergent. Best of luck. Leave 4 hands up if you find this helpful.

GE Drain Hose

Hi, Does this washer have to pump the water up into a drain? If it is possible, it would be better for the machine if you can bring the drin pipe closer to the washer. I know it is not always a possibilty. The longer the drain hose, the harder it is on the washer and sometimes the cloths don't spin out as dry as they will with a short drain hose.

Machine will not spin water out of cloths.

A tranny or clutch problem is typically associated with a complaint of "the washer will not spin"

If you're complaint is now "washer will not drain" (you can see water at bottom of tub at end of cycle); I would check and test the water pump and ensure your drain-line is clear (machine & house-line). Note: You can double-check by having your washer drain into a bucket or something (outside).

You may have a defective pump / pump impeller which will not give the amount of pressure needed to drain completely (broken blade or something).

What was your original problem? Who advised it was the tranny/clutch? Does your washer have a belt?

GE Washer

have they checked the door lid switch? could be intermittent also because if the switch is not close, it would not drain and spin anymore. try to bypass the switch temporarily by shorting it out then use it . becarefull because you can now open the door while it is spinning ad it is very dangerous.

My Maytag front loading washer does not fully rinse cloths MAH8700A. I purchased this washer about 6 months ago. I usually wash small loads but have noticed it doesnt matter what size load. When first...

Is the drain path free-flowing? That is, does the water eject freely during spin/rinse? Maybe there's a restriction in the line, or it's too high above the washer.
