Have you tried without the battery installed? If not, remove the battery and connect (plug in) the AC adapter and power on the Machine. If the problem is with your battery, it'll boot up normally with only the Mains connected to the machine. You can run your laptop only with the Charger connected to it while you are looking for the battery.

If this is not the case, let me know with what you've tried/done so that we will not continue the same.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Ok, then let's first check the Ram (Memory).. Remove the battery, unplug the charger and open the Ram cover (Memory Compartment) and remove the Ram/s. Now power on the Laptop after the power charger is reconnected. What do you see? similar screen as it was with the ram installed? or is there any difference? It would be better and very helpful if you have two rams instead of only one. In this case, reinstall one of them and reboot the system. You also need to clean the ram using an eraser (Pencil Eraser/Rubber). Now reinstall the ram/s and boot the machine again. If it's not successful. Open the back cover and remove the hard disk, now power On the machine without the Hard disk installed but with the Ram installed. Still the same?

Let me know after you are done.

Computer won't turn on

try removing the battery and see if it runs on mains power, if so you need a new battery. another possibility is that the system has overheated, although you would normally expect it to start up once it has cooled down, unless it has done irrepairable damage!

Toshiba Satellite P30 (new) Battery (and old) not charging

Your charging circuitry, inside the PC may be faulty. OR maybe the Power Adapter, you need to try another adapter, if the problem does not go away, then you have an internal motherboard power supply problem it will have to be serviced. Or just maybe the second battery is faulty too, unlikely.

The PDA turn off and it will turn back on immediately later ......

I get much the same, but it comes and goes. For a week or two it will behave itself, then goes pop for a month or three! Do you find if you have external power (cradle or USB) that it will switch off? I also find that if I switch it off from battery power, it will switch itself back on, but then the power switch is ineffective for 6 or 7 seconds. Then you can switch it off, only to repeat the whole excercise again (and again, and again, and again...)
