Hi,

F1-1 Runaway cook upper oven
F3-1 -
Sensor upper oven

Both indicate faulty oven temperature sensor. If you have experience in these appliances, replace the sensor and it would be all set.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Whirlpool GR396LXGQ oven comes on by itself & goes into clean cycle, code reads E2 -F3-

Whirlpool F3 faults relate to temperature problems in the oven. In the case of the error E2-F3, F3 is the general fault code and E2 is the specific error code. An E0-F3 error indicates that the oven's temperature sensor is open; E1-F3, that the temperature sensor is shorted; E2-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 575 degrees Fahrenheit in "Cook" mode; and E3-F3, that the oven temperature has exceeded the maximum rated 950 degrees Fahrenheit in the clean mode. Here is the probe to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

MAYTAG OVEN ERROR CODE F3

Hi Janine.

F3 means "Shorted oven temperature sensor" and it is returned when the oven electronic control detects a wrong impedance value from the oven temperature sensor circuit.

The oven temperature sensor is a probe located inside the oven cavity. The sensor can be removed from the oven and tested using a multimeter set on impedance. The impedance reading across the two sensor's contacts at room temperature must be about 1100 Ohms. Impedance increment rate is 100 Ohms more for every 50 degrees temperature increase. If the reading is sensibly different from this value the sensor must be replaced.

Here the replacement part:
Long Oven Sensor Kit

The sensor is indicated as part number 11 in the exploded view available here.

The sensor is held by two screws. In order to replace the sensor disconnect power, disconnect the connector attached to the sensor, undo the two screws and remove the sensor. Perform operations in reverse order to install the new sensor.

Regards.

Ginko

I have a kenmore ultra bake, model #665 75022101 and the oven doesnt work the code E0-F3 comes up. i have the manual and have tried what they said to do but it doesnt work. i have bought a new sensor

The error code message F3 E0 indicates an open oven sensor circuit. This is the component that regulates the oven temperature.

First disconnect electrical power to the range. Pull the range out & remove the rear panel to the control area. Unplug the 2 violet wires on P3 5-6. You will need to have a meter for testing, set the meter to read ohms (resistance). Place the leads from the multimeter across the 2 violet wires, the meter should read 1080ohms if the sensor is good. If you do not get the correct reading you will need to replace the oven temp sensor.

The oven temp sensor is mounted to the inside of the oven cavity. You will need to remove the lower section of the rear panel to access the sensor connector. Unplug the sensor & slide it back into the oven cavity to remove & replace.

GE OVEN THROWS F2 AND F3 CODES SOME TIMES WORKS FOR 45 MINUTES BEFORE CODE

Hello,

The F2 code means that the oven overheated by at least 100degrees(a bad sensor will cause that)
the F3 means that the oven sensor is shorted,so both of them are consistiant with defective oven tempature sensor and the sensor should be replaced.

The oven sensor is a pictured here oldtech2332_134.jpg
It is located in the oven baking chamber and can be replaced by unscrewing the screws from the bracket at the end of,pull it out unplug it,then reverse that process to install the new one.
With 2 different codes pointing to a bad sensor its apretty safe bets its bad.

I turned on my oven to 350. It heats up to that temperature, but a few minutes F 3 comes on the info panel.

Hello Lynn,
The F3 error code means the oven tempature sensor has became defictive and needs to be replaced. You can clear the code buy pushing the stop/clear button, and try to use the oven again if no code all is well,if the F3 code does return the sensor should defiently be replaced.

This is what the oven sensor looks like.
to test it before replacing use multimeter set to ohms and at room tempature the display on the meter should be between 1060-1100 ohms when placing the meter leads on the two wires inside the sensor plug,if the ohms are considirely more or way than 1060-1100 replace the sensor.
The part number for the sensor is WB21X5301 it could be purchased at your local appliance parts store on online at;

Oven turns off F3 flashes

Bob, an F3 error code denotes a failed oven temp sensor. See below.

F3 Open oven temperature sensor circuit Replace oven temperature sensor
The repair is pretty straight forward, but you should have the replacement part in hand before you begin. The part number is WB21X5301 and retails for about $95.00. I just found one online for $72.60!

The sensor is located inside the oven cavity mounted to the top of the rear wall. Remove the 2 screws and slide it out of there. The sensor has a plastic connector connecting it to the main harness behind the oven. Pull this carefully through the hole. If you can't get the plastic connector through, then you'll have to pull the oven and do this from the back... alot more work but still do-able. Simply disconnect the old sensor from the plastic connector and install the new one. Then feed the wires back into the oven and re-mount the new sensor.

If you don't have to pull the oven, the job should take about 20 minutes and all you need is a 1/4" nut-driver or socket.

If you have to pull the oven, re-post and let me know... I'll walk you through it.

There ya go!
