A washer making a loud noise during spin cycle can also be caused by a faulty drive pulley. The pulley is what the belt (if applicable to yourwasher) rides on to spin your washers tub. The pulley can be made of plastic or metal. It could be simply worn out or just loose.27 Jul 2015

You need to take the belt off and put a new one on.

This is probably the drive belt slipping on the drum or motor. There is usually no adjustment on these and it is a case of replacing the belt. If you take the top off the machine, you may be able to look inside while it is running (KEEP CLEAR OF THE ELECTRICS AND DO NOT DELVE INSIDE WHILE THE MACHINE IS IN THIS STATE!) and see the belt slipping. If it is, it's probably time for a new belt

I imagine you've bought a new machine by now? The plastic gearcog is the clutch housing. The arm that clicks is part of the brake lever. On these models, the brake lever is supposed to hold the clutch in place during the wash cycle so that it slips in both directions to get a forward and reverse wash. On spin, the lever moves away releasing the clutch and gearbox brake and allowing the bowl and agitator to spin together. The brake lever wears and allows the gearbox to slip during the wash cycle. When this happens, the clutch housing will "ratchet" past the brake lever tongue. this causes the "clicking" noise in 1 direction.

How deep do you want to get into this?It sounds like the wash pump motor bearings that are worn.You can pull the unit out flip it over and wd40 the bearings in the motor or you can replace the bearings.Try to lube them first.

It could be just a dry belt and pulley. You could try the old squeeking car fan belt trick and rub soap on the belt. You can even buy sticks of anti-squeek from automobile outlets.

this is either a belt slip or a squeeling bearing ater seal, if it is not the belt then try doing a boil wash, this often resolves the problem. Regards Advisor
