    same blinking timer light problem

  • Anonymous Mar 30, 2014

Try to update my Mitsubishi WD-60638 DLP TV firmware. Followed the instructions. It stay at the welcome screen for an hour. Try to restart the firmware update by turning it off. Now its stuck at the welcome screen now. Wont get pass that. I've try to redue the firmware update over and over but nothing.

Update: I just released that the usb port isnt getting any power. Normally when I plug my usb into a port, it lights up but with the tv's port, it doesnt light up. Plugged in my Ipod (because if its plugged into a usb port, the screen turns on)into the tv usb port but nothing. This tells me no powers getting to the port. I just want to know what part do I need to replace in order for it to work. The Formatter Board or the main board?

Thas a very common problem for that model which happens when the power cord is unplugged. Failed caps on the DM and the Power boards wont re-charge when power is restored and the timer light blinks non stop. The V26 Chassis DLP DM / Power repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually repair that issue. The kit contains the capacitors and the CD with repair instructions.

Blinking "Timer" light for WD-62725

If this is a DLP, you may have problems on the FMT/DM boards in the sealed electrical chassis.

That's a big problem, because Mits doesn't make the DM/FMT boards available anymore. They are only available for rebuild from Mitsubishi and other qualified places.

There is a chance that there are some vented capacitors on the DM and FMT boards you might be able to replace, but it's for someone really comfortable with completely disassembling a set, soldering in 8 new caps and rebuilding the chassis.

Rebuilds will run you $400-$500 in rebuild costs and an additional $200-$400 in labor, depending on the joint.

If the green front panel LED blinks continuously and the TV never comes on, its an issue with the "DM" board. When these TVs are first plugged in, the green LED should blink for 30 sec. to a minute or so. This is the TV booting up, reading its software. Mitsubishi has been having problems with this circuit for several years. In may cases the only permanent solution is to have the chassis rebuilt by Mitsubishi at considerable cost and inconvience. The chassis may have to be sent back to Mits for this rebuild. Call Mits and ask for help.

Blinking green timer light

I purchased my WD 62725 in January of 2005 and have had way too many problems with something costing this much.  My green reset button is now blinking and I have read and tried all of the suggested solutions. All of them have failed.  I sure think Mitsubishi should be held more responsible than they seem to be.  Some one suggested a class action lawsuit.  I would sure join one.  Jack P

Check C81A2, C81A3, C81B3 and C81B4 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the DM PCB.
Check C8F19, C8F21, C8F22 and C8F27 (1000 uFD, 16V, 105C) on the FMT PCB.
If any are bad, replace all of them with part # 181P734030 (680 uFD, 16V, 105C).
