Question about NetGear DG834G Router
Let me first explain you about the Firmware Update installation procedure.
All the Firmware Updates will be installed in the Chipsets of the respective Device.
It is always recommended to install the required Updates.
Installing a incorrect Firmware Update might result in a Hardware related issue.
As you have mentioned that the issue occurred only after installing the Firmware Update, the issue might be due to the Firmware Update.
You may first check for a Hard reset button on the sides or bottom of the Router.
If there is a Hard reset feature, please go ahead.
If there is no such option, it would be better to contact the Router manufacturer to check for the alternate options.
Hope this helps.
Please feel free to ask further questions.

For that press RESET button it is in back side of router hold it for 10 seconds then all settings defaults. Then connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then configure wan settings and lan settings enable wireless if you want to use wifi . Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.
