Question about Toshiba 32HL83 32 in. LCD HDTV
Open the set and switch on with the cover off use a good fan to cool the inside and see if the timing changes. If so carefully check the component that is heating up. Isolate the component and cut off the fan. When the set shuts off slowly tap to see if it starts, if so switch off and look at the area of the board suspected. Look into the circuit tracks, perhaps soldering the section with new solder will replace the dry solderr joints. also IC pins needs solder if it was heating up and losing connection.
If this wont work but the set still goes off in a correct timed manner, the the microprocessor section needs attention. it can be triggered by the complimentary circuits around it and will need voltage check on cut off and ON condition to confirrm.
