Will a th5000 work with a ruud dual fuel

Are you talking about a pro 5000 Thermostat??? if so then NO it will not work. With this stat you do not have a temperature lock on the heat pump. Say you don't want the heat pump to run below 25 degrees. it won't shut the heat pump. And you don't want the heat pump to run at the same time as the furnace. With the Pro 8000 3 heat and 2 cool thermostat you can lock out the heat pump at 25 degrees outside an turn the furnace on. You will have to install an outdoor thermostat hooked up to the pro 8000 it usually comes with the stat. Honeywell products.

Can't get the gas furnace to heat.

All York/JCI thermostats made by Venstar

The setup is probably incomplete. Did you configure the thermostat for a 2 stage heat pump? The heat pump should have a thermostat wire connected to R, C, Y1, Y2, and O, that makes 5 wires. I suspect you are only using first stage compression and or first stage blower speed.

Carrier OEM to Honeywell Programmable Tstat - NEED HELP

you likely have a "two stage" system, but not a two stage heat pump. the first stage is probably the heat pump itself, and the second stage is the auxilliary resistance heat that suppliments the heat pump at lower temps. if i knew the terminals that are available on the new stat, i could advise you on the proper wiring.

I am trouble shooting a Bryant Hi-bred system that uses an air cooled heat pump with high efficiency gas furnace for backup and low ambient operation. How does the system decide whether to use the air...

Your t-stat should be set up so that the furnace is the second stage heat and also emergency heat. First stage (heat Pump comes on) sometimes they use Time to start 2nd stage, sometimes they use outdoor temp and this all bepends how bryant has set it up, without a model # I cannot tell you but send it and i will look in somebooks i have to tell you.

New thermostat not cooling. Blowing heat instead.

Hello You have only 5 wires? multi stage if so ,is run by something else.Check that RH/RC is jumped out on new stat. Also check that O is not on the B terminal. If there is an A/B select switch set it to O.Emergency heat button dont matter as there is no wire to run it with only 5 wires.

I am installing a Honeywell T841 onto existing RGYW wiring. The fan kicks on, but I notice the air conditioner is not running. Were one or more of these supposed to go on the W2 or B terminals? Thanks!

Need to have more numbers in model number to be sure There's about 30 T841 t'stats and some are1, 2, and 3 stage heat pump and some 1, 2, and 3stage AC.
If you have
R to transformer
G to fan relay
Y to contactor in outdoor unit
W to Gas valve
You have the thermostat wired right.
Depending on the T'stat B could be the common side of the transformer or 2nd stage heat.
W2 terminal are for 2nd stage heat
You need to put the thermostat on cool and lower the setting to bring on the cooling. Then go outside and see if you have power to the outdoor unit and 24 volts to the contactor coil.
