Question about LaCie (300770) 250 GB Hard Drive
I have experienced that kind of problem also I've open the cover of the Harddisk and I have found out that the disk reader is not aligned with the harddisk cylinder that is why I can hear a ticking noise every time I turn on my computer. Sadly I wasn't able to fix it because the reader is damage already. My advice to you is that, backup your files as soon as possible and buy a new harddisk because you might not be able to open your files from the damage harddisk once it gets very severe.
Hope I was able to help.

My neighbour has the Seagate FreeAgent Desk 500GB, and in under 2 weeks it started to beep and was not recognized by any Laptop or P.C. if this is the same for you with any FreeAgent Desk series ( not GO series, different procedure for GO products). You maybe in luck click this link, you may have to register in the forums to view thread.... http://www.yo-lid.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=84 Thread can be found in 'Technical' under 'General Technical Issues',
