Mic outlet doesn't work

Hi
I just got a microphone for my computer Emachines T6412 and I found out that the mic outlet is not working. We tested the microphone on my brother's computer and it works fine, so we know it's the mic outlet on my computer that is defective. What can I do?

Hello,

did you see a volume control in the task bar. In the volume control double click ..click the option and then properties, check the mic and line volume to display.. and then adjust the volume to higher..

if this not work u can , maybe the volume socket is defective but ican't believe..that is seldom case..

But if that is the case you can buy add on sound card and connect it to the pci port.

pls try first the solution above before going to buy new sound card.

may this help,

melnavz

PS: pls do not rate me if my solution not solve the issue and you need more further information. but if is invaluable solution rate me fixya.

Run the software diagnostic comign with the laptop for better test or download from your supplier computer.
However see the device manager if the driver is corrupted, uninstall and install again UPDATE driver from the computer supplier.
You must sure that in control panel in icon SOUNDS, you can adjust the level volume from microphone or use the troubleshooting section the same icon.

God bless you

My microphone used to work, now it doesn't.

Check the PC with an external microphone and if this works then the internal mic can be faulty and should be replaced.
Also open the audio settings and check the level of the microphone settings .
you can test and confirm the working of the microphone.

When playing online on my xbox 360, my tritton 180 universal headset works, but ppl can't hear me talk. Help.

Hi,

Do you have the chat cable connected?

Is the mic turned off on the inline volume controller?

Is the Chat volume turned up on the inline volume controller?

Test the microphone on a PC by plugging in the USB into a PC and test if it works.

If it doesn't then you can ask for a spare microphone from TRITTON / Madcatz.

If the mic works on the PC then the problem might be with the chat cable which you can also ask from TRITTON or Madcatz.

Hope it helps...

Logitech Webcam Microphone not working

You may have a laptop with another mic installed or other mic software installed
try setting the webcam mic as default

TEST SPEAKERS
Right click on speaker icon in System Tray or from Control Panel
Select "Playback Devices"
The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible
Right click on the volume graph and click "Test"
Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard

SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC
Click "Recording" tab.
To set required (webcam) mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties"
In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click 'OK'
Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later)
Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays

All of a sudden my microphone stopped working on notebook

try plugging a mic in the mic hole to see if it works , that would eliminate the driver or the sound card issue.

if you dont have a mic you can use a diskman headset, and speak in to the ear part
wont be as loud but still good to test

My microphone doesn't do it right.

Some of the Podcast mics are condenser mics and MUST be used with a preamp or DEVICE that supplies PHANTOM power to the mic.

You computer DOESN"T supply Phantom power.

Read up on Phantom power in Google to understand it.
