Refrigerator section stopped cooling, but the freezer section still works.

Hi. There is a valve in the top corner of the frigde that controls the cold Air to flow from the freezer to cool the fridge. This valve called a damper closes when the door is opened. You have to depress the door switch and listen for the fan in the freezer to switch on then feel for cold air to flow into the fridge compartment. The fan could have failed or the damper valve could be stuck closed.

Hi, freezer working but refridge part is not staying cold

Most refrigerators take cold air from the freezer and move it with a fan and duct work to the fridge section. You could have a blockage in the duct, usually ice buildup, or your freezer fan has stopped working.

I have a kitchenaid, KSRS25RSMS01, refrigerator and the freezer is fine and the fridge is not cooling. I have checked the evaporator and it has normal frost, and the fan is turning fine, but the air coming...

Your frig has the classic symptoms of a frig with a clogged or blocked vent between the
freezer section and the refrigerated section. This clog can occur due to (a) stuff in the freezer blocking the vent, or (b) ice in the freezer blocking the vent, or (c) both of the above.

The way a refrigerator works is it cools the freezer, and the warmest air in the freezer is vented out
to the refrigerator section. If this vent is blocked (and everything else is working), your refrigerator
just became a eye-level small freezer atop a well-insulated section of dangerously warm food.

The freezer is working fine and I hear the fan in the freezer working when I open the door, however the refrigerator is not getting enough cold air into it. I place my hand under the vent where the air is...

The "control" on the freezer section is simply a mechanical air valve and controls how much freezer air actually goes into the refrigerator section. No electronics here at all.

So, IF not enough air is coming into the refrigerator, LOWER the setting on the Freezer Control .... mine has letters A B C D E try "B" and see what happens. You should feel an increased air flow at the air vent.

You may have to INCREASE the "Fresh Food Control" control to a HIGHER setting to compinsate for directing more air out out the freezer ... try 6, 7, or 8. This IS an electronic control and controls the ENTIRE refigerator's cold generation.

If this don't work, there is some other problem, like the defrost heater is out and there is lots of ice behind the back freezer wall stopping or reducing the air flow.

Chipping away ice in magic chef freezer section i punctured freon line in freezer panel can refridge still get cold

No, the fridge will not get cold any more. The coolant goes to the coils in the freezer. The fridge takes a small amount of cold air from the freezer to lower its temperature.

I am sorry to say that unless you can find a way to repair the puncture and refill the system with freon, you are going to have to buy another refrigerator.

My maytag side by side refridge/ freezer gets cold in freezer unit(below zero) but only down to 50 in fridge

That tells me there is a blockage between the freezer side and the freezer side. Look inside the rear of the freezer for a layer of frost building up on the rear wall. If yes then there may be a defrost problem beginning to show. I also need your model number and I need you to look for a vent control on the temperature control panel. See if you can increase the amount of air flow to the refrigerator fresh food section. If not then there possibly is a blockage in the duct that comes from the freezer side. Possibly ice or a damper is stuck closed. You will need to unplug and remove the rear panel in the freezer to confirm this. Try to find your model number and let me know what you find. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Dometic 2852 freezer gets cold but refridge does not

If your freezer is getting down close to zero degrees (F) then I doubt that your refrigerant is low. The most common cause of the refrigerator section not getting cool (approximately 40 degrees (f)) is a fan that pulls the coils in the freezer into the refrigerator has failed. A very common failure of a cheep little fan motor. Normally that fan is behind a panel in the freezer section at the bottom. Determine where the cold air in the refrigerator section normally enters and the fan will be above there.

Refrigerator not cold/Freezer cold.

The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through it. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp .

.
If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check the vent that lets air from the freezer goes to the refrigerator. A control knob operates the amount of opening through the vent with a flap. makes the flap is not stuck, and responds to the knob, this is all mechanically link.
