Thanks for using FixYa. F 50 flashes when the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation (Motor Stalled). Does basket turn freely? If not, make sure bottom shipping pack has been removed. Remove the basket and look for foreign object. If basket turns freely, then perform the below mentioned diagnostic test--

Motor Circuit TEST

This test checks the wiring to the motor and rotor position sensor; and the motor and rotor position sensor themselves. NOTE: Drain water from tub.

1. See Activation of Manual Diagnostic Test Mode, and check the motor and electrical connections by performing the Agitate and Spin tests under Manual: Motor. The following step assumes that this step failed.

2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.

3. Check to see if basket will turn freely. If basket turns freely, go to step 4. If basket does not turn freely, determine what is causing the mechanical friction or lock up.

4. Remove the console to access the machine/ motor control assembly.

5. Visually check that the P5 and P10 connectors are inserted all the way into the machine/motor control. If visual checks pass, go to step 6. If visual checks fail, reconnect P5 and P10 and repeat step 1.

6. With an ohmmeter, check for 16 ohms resistance at the P5 connector between pins P5-1 and P5-2, and also between pins P5-1 and P5-3. Also measure the resistance at the P10 connector between pins P10-1 and P10-7 and verify that the resistance is within the range shown in the wiring diagram on page 7-1. If the resistance is correct, go to step 11. If the P5 connector resistance is much higher than 16 ohms, or the P10 connector resistance is out of range, go to step 7.

7. Tilt machine forward to access the bottom of the machine and the drive motor area. Remove the motor bolt, then the motor cover to access the motor connections.

8. Visually check the mounting bracket and electrical connections to the motor and rotor position sensor board. If visual check passes, go to step 9. If visual check fails, reconnect the electrical connections, reassemble stator and motor cover and repeat step 1.

9. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity between all pins on the P10 machine/motor control connector and the motor rotor position sensor (RPS) connector. If there is continuity, go to step 11. If there is no continuity, replace the lower machine harness.

10. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity between all pins on the P5 machine/motor control connector and the drive motor connector. If there is continuity, replace the drive motor. If there is no continuity, replace the lower machine harness.

11. The drive motor and lower harness are good. Replace the motor RPS board and perform the Diagnostics test in step 1 to verify repair.

12. If the Diagnostics motor test in step 1 failed, then the machine/motor control has failed: Unplug the washer or disconnect power. Replace the machine/motor control assembly. Perform the Motor Diagnostics in step 1 to verify repair.

I have a kenmore elite oasis washing machine, type 580. when starting cycle it stops with code F 50. Any suggestions?


It's telling you that it did not detect motor movement. This could be failed motor control or something else. It is probably an RPS or the maching/motor control board but there are a few other things that it could be. Not an easy problem for DIY.

Hello.. I don't have a lot of time.. to work on this.. but wondering what the dl error codes is on a kenmore elite oasis washer model 110.27086603 serial #CT4070587


First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:

The DL code points to a Door Lock problem.

See the Whirlpool Service Manual for their Cabrio washer (basically the same as the Sears Oasis).

The F1 error code on this washer indicates a Primary Control Board failure.



It is likely that the machine control board will need to be replaced to correct this problem.



The part number for the machine control board is undetermineable because you have not provided me with the exact model # of your washer.

NOTE: Be sure to unplug the washer to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.



There is a slight possibility that a problem with the pressure switch hose could be causing this problem.

A pinched or twisted air hose can cause this fault code.

When you open the console, check the air hose connected to the pressure switch on the machine control board.

If it is pinched or crimped, I recommend rerouting the hose to resolve this problem.

This may fix your problem without replacing the control board.



NOTE: You may want to check for this condition before ordering the control board. Most electronic control boards cannot be returned for a refund or credit.



If you find no apparent problems with the air hose on the pressure switch, then replacing the machine control board on this washer should correct your problem. There is a risk involved in replacing this part yourself.

As noted above, you could have a problem with the air pressure hose that is not apparent upon your initial inspection. A service technician would normally need to properly and thoroughly diagnose this problem before replacing the control board.

The F51 error code indicates that the control is not sensing proper motor movement through the signals from the RPS (rotor position sensor) circuit. This can be caused by several different problems. Make sure that you are not overloading the washer. Overloading can cause this problem. A toy or foreign object could be under the washer that is interfering with motor rotation. With the washer empty, spin the basket inside the washer tub to see if it spins relatively easily. If not, you could an item caught between the spin basket and the tub. You could have a wire harness problem causing signals to not be transmitted properly between the RPS and the machine control board. A failed RPS sensor or a failed control board could also cause this problem.

Need diagnostic test for Kenmore Elite Oasis HE top load washer it is making beeping noises and has a mind of its own


pick any button but power or pause (spin works ok) pres and hold 3 sec release 3 sec hold 3 sec release 3 sec hold 3 sec this will put intio diagnostics usually if a fault code is stored this will show first press same button to step through post fault code if any asap and will try to help may to try several times to get into diagnostics
